Tensions intensified at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on the second day of protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. 00:00Now we're beginning with breaking news right at the top.
00:04This is with regards to the protests that we were referring to earlier.
00:08Today, the situation has been intensifying and high drama has ensued at Jantar Mantar as we speak.
00:16This is the day two of the protests currently, or in fact the clashes because the protest permission has not
00:22been given.
00:22So it's just clashes that we see only intensifying with each passing hour for day two at Jantar Mantar.
00:28It's opposition versus Ganesh Kumar, the Rao, SIR Rao that's currently underway and over which the entirety of the high
00:36drama that's unfolded.
00:38With left student wing defying the police orders, protesters breaching barricades.
00:43Some of them could be seen thrown at this point amid the very clashes and in the process.
00:49Some of the members of those left wing groups being detained already.
00:55As you can see, these are buses yet again for the second day.
00:58That has, in fact, the students that have been picked up from the very protest side.
01:03Protesters that have been picked up, not just students here.
01:06But this time, it's a mixed bag that we see out there protesting against the CEC, demanding his resignation.
01:15Now yesterday, we'd already seen the All India Students Association, ISA.
01:19The president of which, Neha Bora, who was already, in fact, detained from the entire protest side, along with activists
01:28like Yohan Indra there itself.
01:31But at this given point, what we do see is the second day of the same being replayed.
01:39And Neha Bora could be seen in one of the visuals just a little while back in a heated exchange
01:44with the police.
01:45And we see protesters have been detained for day two.
01:49High drama unfolding at the very protest site.
01:52Remember, permission for the protest has not been given, which is why such heavy police presence at Jantar Mantar since
02:00yesterday.
02:00Because October 2nd is when all of the opposition parties had called for the protests to begin against the SIR
02:09Rao.
02:09That's the strategy that they had gone ahead with.
02:11The CJP leading the protests in Mumbai.
02:14Opposition parties leading the protests in Delhi.
02:17And there's a call for a protest by the CJP at Jantar Mantar on October 10th.
02:22That is the next day that they have, in fact, announced for a protest in the national capital.

02:34Firstly, what seems to be the situation at the ground?
02:37Who all have been detained?
02:38Who all were present?
02:40Any political figures that you could spot at the protest site?
02:43What's happening?
02:45I'm here at the Jantar Mantar near the Kerala house, where we have seen that a few minutes ago,
02:50Neha Bora and various other left parties, leaders, those who are trying to mask towards the Jantar Mantar,
02:54were detained by the Delhi police, because from yesterday we have seen that left parties and people from civil society
03:00have given a call for the Jantar Mantar march.
03:02And we have seen yesterday also the Delhi police has deployed heavy paramilitary forces
03:07to stop the left party workers and, you know, activists,
03:12those who are trying to mask towards the Jantar Mantar, against election commission.
03:16They are demanding resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Ganesh Kumar.
03:19But on the other hand, here I'll show you in the visual that how heavy deployment of paramilitary forces
03:24has been done here by the Delhi police and the administration.
03:28But on the other hand, I'll also show you that whole area has been barricaded from Ashok road to Jantar
03:33Mantar.
03:34All the roads leading to Jantar Mantar has been barricaded by the Delhi police,
03:37where we are seeing that heavy deployment of paramilitary forces,
03:40Delhi police personnel with anti-right gear.
03:43And clearly we have seen that in visuals that how students,
03:47those who are trying to march towards the Jantar Mantar, were detained by the Delhi police.
03:51And yesterday also we have seen on 2nd of October on the Gandhi Jainti
03:54that various organizations have given call.
03:56And today also AISA, a left party student organization, has given call for the 1 p.m.
04:01But later we have seen that they have reached here around 3, 3.30 p.m.
04:05But now all the leaders from the left party, Neha Vohra, their president,
04:10they're all being detained by the Delhi police.
04:13And clearly you can see the security situation has been beefed up here at the Jantar Mantar.
