00:04today we are either literally going to be talking about the worst do or die team in major league
00:10baseball history you heard the numbers yesterday or two and 11 when we went deep into that and
00:15they hadn't won a do or die game in i think it's like uh 30 years or something crazy um

00:23going to be like we're headed to la man we're headed to la and let's enjoy another full week of
00:30baseball there's no question that sports adds a ton to our lives because we follow it you know you
00:35probably get tired on twitter hearing me say if you don't follow sports doesn't mean you're a bad
00:39person but boy you are missing out and last night boy did you miss out bo will tell us more
00:44about the
00:44energy and atmosphere um of that stadium and uh i listen i knew yesterday morning i said dude this
00:53town is jacked up we hate the phillies we got a night game we hated the two o'clock starts
01:00we hated hearing about how we didn't sell i mean the whole thing was like okay give us a tuesday
01:06wednesday 2 p.m game right and then the way we lost the day before and i was like if
01:11i don't know
01:11anything i know atlanta and atlanta and i can tell you because i had a couple of things early last
01:16night uh and i called my restaurant friends when i tell you it was a barren wasteland everybody in
01:24town was either at the game or watching the game absolutely exactly how this town should be magical
01:30night it was a magical night in atlanta it was a magical night for braves fans and the storylines
01:35you know what do you always say that real sports is better than any reality show in history yeah
01:41sports and it was from ray kerr to chris sale to money mike who was the goat you know getting
01:48booed the day before for hitting to a couple double plays it was just exactly what the doctor ordered
01:53and now we will head to los angeles where the braves are five and one against the dodgers just
02:00this year outscoring them 26 to 15 and it has not been close yeah last time i was in la
02:06i was at the
02:07chris sale start which i think was a was it a friday night of the weekend series or it was
02:13a
02:14mid i don't whatever it was we lost that game i was there and chris sale pitched great it was
02:18a very
02:18familiar chris sale story uh of him pitching well and got no offense and i think we then won i
02:23know
02:23we did we won the next two games we didn't win the chris sale game but then we won the
02:27next two games
02:28um and then of course there was the scintillating best series of the year when they came to town and
02:33we were kind of like oh how do we match up with the dodgers and we swept them so listen
02:38we're very
02:39familiar with them year before we won the title we had them 3-1 in the series and we lost
02:44the series
02:45then freddie freeman helped beat them um brian snicker uh gave us a full hour on tuesday taking us
02:54through you know how the night shift basically had the had that series and what happened in that series
03:00so um since then they've just put hundreds more million on their payroll added more mvps
03:07won two won two championships since we beat them and they are the absolute you know big bad
03:16you know swinging everything in baseball i mean they are they are it but we'll worry about that over
03:24the weekend and here's the beauty of sports it's happening quick man right so you want to know the
03:29times of each game because i've got all five in front of me braves dodgers saturday at four
03:34sunday is an eight o'clock game on fox so sunday night then tuesday six o'clock wednesday six o

03:43and then friday if needed braves at the dodgers 8 p.m on fox yeah what jumps out at me
03:49is how quickly
03:50the turnaround is and we're playing at four o'clock uh tomorrow that's incredible i'm going to be in
03:54athens you tell me how fun it's going to be georgia kicks at 12 30 they will end at 4

04:01uh georgia vanderbilt there will be 100 000 people in that building yep there will be all the people
04:07that don't even go to the go inside and uh it's parents weekend in athens and i would imagine at
04:14places like paloma park and others it is going to be absolutely bonkers because by the way the carryover
04:20of georgia football fans and braves fans are probably 95 yeah like there's nothing they love
04:26more than georgia and the braves yeah so how fun is that going to be and then on sunday we
04:31get a
04:31sunday night game with all the pomp and circumstance with john smoltz i assume sitting there won't be
04:37joe buck because joe buck will be doing well he may be joe buck because he does monday night football
04:41so he'll probably do that and then he'll go do his monday night game right about that yeah and then

04:53lives like today's probably a little groggy for folks coming out of there last night but six o'clock

05:52is going to be tremendous well the brewers have the best brewers are a mildly sexier team than the
05:58braves i don't think this matchup is like braves dodgers is a better matchup they're just not
06:03they're just come on with a problem but neither game is prime time six o'clock's not prime time
06:08and 10 o'clock's not prime time so fox's fox wants every game so that's the reality last night was
06:14tremendous the eight o'clock start so good i was just nervous and we were on a text and i

06:20god i don't feel good about this i feel you know and i was just so nervous i mean um

06:27what bryce harper bryce harper said it or no i think i don't remember better team one i mean
06:32better regular season team um better defensively not even close you know and last night we were
06:40picking on his goal his glove is gold man that play it short and then ozzy who bounces it three
06:46times that was just tremendous you know even talking to my content guys from philly got me a
06:51little more because they're like dude this has not been a good baseball team like these guys are old
06:55they they cratered down the stretch they asked mattingly how much effect you think it had that last
07:00week he's like of course it had an effect you don't think we want to start up like lay up

07:06rotation the way we wanted you think we wanted to go down to the last day so was i nervous

07:12vegas had the game even so told you that braves should have been favored but they were not based
07:18on past history and based on the way they lost they were playing at home they had the better record
07:23they were nine and four in the regular season right so you're like why aren't they favored
07:27whether i favored because the braves lose games like that yeah they lose games like that so the
07:31other part about it from the opening from the jump was the the battery was rocking and those people
07:37were in their seats and loud as get out yeah bo give us a little bit of how yesterday compared
07:42to any
07:43other days you had there so it was it was pretty atypical for days that i have in the truest
07:48club so
07:48we have a late arriving crowd everybody you know knows what they want knows where they're going to sit

08:59all i i was not going to go to chris sale and ask him if he could pitch tonight i

09:03him in that position because i knew that even if he was hanging he would tell me yes but literally

09:07soon as i stepped in my office this afternoon he was sitting in the chair across my desk and he

09:21superlatives for chris sale been talking about him all year one of the best i've ever been around i

09:31things he's he's as good as i've ever been around the fact that chris sale was even in the mix
09:37last night i was shocked until i heard the pregame and his interview with joe simpson on the dock at
09:43the lake he was talking about he specifically says is chris sale available tonight and walt weiss
09:49hesitated and he goes i don't really want to say in particular let's just say that all hands are on
09:54deck in my head i'm like no way are they going to have chris sale so did you hear matt
09:58olsen after
09:59the game he said i had no idea he said i looked up and i saw chris sale coming through
10:04and he said i got
10:04chill bumps i became a fan that's funny because rusty and i we did a whole segment i said i'm

10:10to pick just i'm going to give you a vision late game chris sale bullpen opens we got to hold

10:18and he comes running out and i was like i got chill bumps i said it on there i got

10:23about it but i think we all thought he had to be available bo right it's like i mean 100

10:27we're saying it all day yesterday if we get late it's coming shorber and harper back to back
10:33having having trey turner lead off was the biggest favor they could have done for us
10:37because you keep shorber and harper back to back chris sale can come out of the out of the bullpen
10:41at any time in the eighth or ninth and get both of them out and he only had to come
10:44out for bryce
10:45and wow you see bryce harper's numbers against chris sale oh they're horrible he can't hit them
10:49look at what he did to him he were four sliders out it remind you know what it reminded me
