00:00Oh my comment in the voiceover about those being aging hands really steered everyone up back then.
00:06But they really are and I think we definitely need this kind of content too.
00:11Here the EMI coating held up perfectly by the way. She had a nice vacation and overall everything is
00:16great with these nails. But she came and said that now she wants to change the shape. She doesn't
00:21want square nails anymore, she wants them more oval and she wants to go for an almond shape.
00:26By the way here I am checking the bit on my calibrator and putting it into the Dr. Alex SP
00:31-130 machine.
00:32I'm working at low speeds approximately 12 to 15 000 and in this case I'm using a pedicure bit
00:40shaped like a drop with a red marking. It's quite large but I like how it lifts the cuticle and
00:46polishes everything. We do the cut here using scissors with a curved tip polish everything and
00:52then we can move on to changing the shape. This is one of those cases where I won't file the
00:56final
00:57shape at the very end because changing from a square to an oval requires a bit more filing.
01:02If we file it after applying the top coat it won't look very nice.
01:06Today we'll be using the AM brand for the coating and I am already applying the base layer.
01:11But since we chose a slightly translucent gel shade we decided to tint the free edge because we knew that
01:18if we applied the gel thinly as is proper in modern manicure the free edge would show through and it
01:24wouldn't look nice. That's why I took gel paint, aero puffin and dabbed something that matched with
01:29the shade of our gel onto the tip. Here we chose the fast gel from AM in shade 33. It's
01:35called fast
01:35because it's liquid like base coats and probably even thinner than some base coats and honestly it's a
01:41real pleasure to work with because when the material spreads quickly your work speed increases and
01:46honestly it feels like everything just falls into place. Overall for a short length I think this is
01:52a really really suitable gel and as you can see when applied the tip doesn't show through at all.
01:56The tip looks beautiful. Near the cuticle it's a bit sheer, semi-transparent. There are some sparkles,
02:02some yuki flakes and the tip looks very aesthetic. I think it turned out to be an excellent combo in
02:08this
02:08case. I use a compass to help me measure the length. I measure the length from the cuticle to the
02:14end of
02:14the free edge not just along the free edge and then using a nail file I do the final shaping
02:19before
02:20applying the top coat. I lightly go over the surface of the nail itself closer to the tip to remove
02:26any
02:26excess bulk and some gel build up. Next all we need to do is take a no wipe top coat
02:31and apply a very
02:32very thin layer without leveling just to add some shine. And this is the result we got on mature hands.
02:39Share your opinion in the comments. Was the square shape better or does the oval suit her much more?
