00:12text says guys not to halt the show but did john say he hates carrie underwood's voice
00:18yeah it's just kind of nails on a chalkboard for me this is one of your opinions yeah i i
00:25think i
00:25am entitled to my opinion you are but one of your opinions it doesn't have to be anything that
00:29anyone else agrees with i just not a fan you and you don't like eating cold cuts we all have
00:35bad
00:35opinions yeah well i don't know that that's a bad one well i look i don't put salad dressing on
00:39my
00:40salad i would acknowledge bad opinion people make fun of me for it you've got yours too should we
00:44sure yeah as we should the sub thing just blows me away with you being a kind of an ogre
00:50type guy
00:51old school dude yeah i like hot sandwiches give me a meatball sandwich a meatloaf sandwich and
00:56i just can't believe you wouldn't tear apart an italian sub he hardly eats pasta
01:03it's unbelievable it's italian i know well
01:09now it all makes sense i have an issue with a few of them
01:16well then okay joey porter jr is not a detroit lion he's a dallas cowboy and i said something to
01:22you
01:22off the air i said just for a minute because today has been a lot of mad and disappointment
01:27if brad had stepped up and made this deal that dallas made how different would today sound
01:33we'd be saying well they went out and filled their number one need
01:38well i think there would be a catch 22 brad stepped up to the plate so if it's done as
01:43constructed yeah i
01:44think we're talking about all of these you know hey it's it's great but you're also going to have
01:48those fans that are going to be saying well you didn't give them an extension this is and you know
01:54yeah it's it's reckless because you're you're throwing away those draft picks and then and then
01:58if they did give the extension it would be well you're paying too much for it's too much it's just
02:03it's it's that's the give and take of what we do look people are always going to bitch but i
02:07think
02:07you'd be getting much more praise today if they made the deal exactly the way dallas made it no extension
02:12you give up a second not this year's second but a distant second in 2028 they make that deal we're
02:18saying brad stepped up he did what was necessary he sees the big hole in this team and he addressed
02:23it and and while porter probably isn't playing for for this or next week imagine this you're coming
02:28out of the buy you got brian branch and joey porter jr and cave mays and we're four and one
02:34in the
02:34division games or i want to do that show today instead we got to do well the price was too
02:40high and he
02:40was never going to do it to begin with it sounds like stock holmes syndrome there's a lot of lions
02:45fans that'll justify this because this is just how it's got to be say that one more time stock holmes
02:53syndrome well you know without an extension i just couldn't justify it and we're going to get a corner
02:59at the deadline stock holmes syndrome well okay you identify with your captor
03:09i'm not going to go quite that far i'm disappointed that the the the cowboys got
03:14joey porter jr it would have been upgrade for us and here's the other thing i'm disappointed because
03:20i didn't anticipate it would happen we've we've all seen and and witnessed what brad holmes is
03:26willing to do and not willing to do and so i wasn't surprised that the lions didn't do it
03:32i will be i will go from disappointed to mad if he doesn't identify that the secondary is a liability
03:41it will cost us games and he doesn't go and prove it in a meaningful way not just in you
03:49know
03:49a band-aid yeah um we heard from ross tucker there i was unaware that michael jackson was hurt
03:57and so he's alive which one are we talking about um but there are other individuals that they could
04:07investigate and see if there would be a benefit of making a trade i had a couple of names you
04:13had a
04:13couple of names so it's not like this was the only thing that they could possibly do it may be
04:19the best
04:19this year and so then you start going down the list and you're thinking okay well if they go get
04:25a
04:25zion mccollum from tampa bay it would it be as good as getting joey porter jr i'll have to investigate
04:32a little bit more uh you know corners aren't necessarily a thing that i detail on a weekly
04:38basis okay we can do this and look at our show sheet 8 50 maybe you hand out a couple
04:43names i hand
04:44out a couple names i will stress they're not joey porter jr i think they should and and i gotta
04:49hope
04:50they would make a move before the deadline at corner but the key here is you're settling
04:57when when they got zadarius smith one of your big uh talking points was they got the best edge rusher
05:02traded available yes yes and so we'll see because we don't know who all is going to be available
05:07and yes you don't have joey porter jr now you don't have an upgrade now but we'll see what other
05:15corners if any are moved before the deadline and if the lions can consummate some type of trade to
05:21make their secondary better because what they have right now is not good enough i think everyone
05:25could agree on that i would hope brad holmes would agree on that it's also durin day at some point
05:30we'll get into what we want or expect to happen with jaylen durin before midnight
05:37does he turn into cinderella or a pumpkin it is october let's get to heather with the news
05:45well two families are suing a detroit funeral home for a mix-up that resulted in premature
05:52cremation and an alleged cover-up so we discussed this when it happened one family says their mother
05:59kimberly moore passed away and then was cremated without the family's knowledge so her family had
06:05actually planned this open casket viewing just for friends and family uh followed by cremation however when
06:12moore's daughter showed up to the funeral home to kind of prepare everything she realized wait the
06:18woman in the casket is not my mother at all um so there was a cover-up right because the
06:23the the
06:24body in the casket was wearing a wig and the clothes that belonged to moore but it wasn't her body
06:30at all
06:30and um now moore's five children are suing hutchinson funeral home on eight counts including negligence
06:38they're also suing a royal oak cremation company and then the second family involved also lost their
06:45mother sandra miller it was miller's body who was in the casket i just described so when her daughter
06:51called because they heard about this mix-up called the funeral home the funeral home assured her that
06:56nope your mother is not part of this mix-up at all but lo and behold she was and obviously
07:03when
07:03it comes to to death and and your loved ones you want everything handled a certain way and it's
07:08they both are asking for accountability yep uh you can have a chance to get a free oil change this
07:14weekend oh magical touch oil change on ford road in garden city is offering free service on saturday
07:21october 3rd from 8 a.m to 6 p.m something for you to do i could drive all the
07:28way to garden city
07:29get your free oil change yeah right uh the trip the owner says that the event is a way to
07:34help drivers
07:35with everyday expenses and thank uh the community for supporting the business so there will be you
07:41know a limited number but they don't know they say the number of uh vehicle service will depend on
07:46available supplies so okay get on over get a free oil change if you're in the area yes um some
07:53clauston residents are pretty upset after finding out just how many trees could be coming down as
07:59part of the city's some former clauston residents are upset about this as well infrastructure work i
08:03mean man that was beautiful when you when you see a tree-lined street with these mature trees it is
08:09it's tough to hear that i was telling my wife about this story yesterday i obviously clauston's where i grew
08:14up
08:15yes and one of the great things it is an older community yes a lot of older homes but amongst
08:20those older homes are gigantic beautiful trees it is part of what makes clauston special well the city
08:27is replacing water lines rebuilding roads on four streets and the project calls for removing 72 large
08:34mature trees along those streets residents say they knew the construction was coming that wasn't the
08:39surprise but the surprise was just how many trees were coming down you know they went through and put
08:43those big x's and spray paint across them and people feel like it's almost every single tree
08:48along the streets um like you said they were planted in like the late 50s oh yeah early 60s so
08:54they're they're huge trees um the city says the trees are being removed because their roots can
08:59interfere with the equipment needed to rebuild um what they're working on um but after residents pushed
09:06back officials agreed to pause some of the cutting there are some trees that have to come down
09:11but they say they're going to kind of like reassess everything for the remaining trees so
09:16yeah we'll see they do say they're going to plant some new trees yeah but man it's not the same
09:21yeah
09:21in another 60 years when no one here is going to enjoy them it's just not the same so there's
09:26a
09:26motorcyclist in virginia who was pulled over for speeding last month and he was going like
09:31ridiculously fast he was going 72 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone yeah police just released
09:39the body cam footage from the traffic stop and it includes the man saying i was moving a little
09:43too quick wasn't i and the police officer was like yes you were well then the man goes on to
09:48explain
09:49exactly why he was speeding
10:11so uh he did get a ticket for reckless driving and didn't get his mcmuffin i'm guessing
10:16didn't make it in time and when it's done at 10 30 it's done it's time for burgers
10:22heather with the news that's hilarious uh we got the thursday touchdown next then we'll get back
10:26into joey porter jr lions fans have a lot to say and we'll throw out a couple names that they
10:29could
10:29still inquire about it's 97 one
