The 2026 BYD ETT 44 electric truck has earned a maximum 5 star Euro NCAP safety rating and the CitySafe award. See how BYD’s electric 4x2 tractor unit performed across driving safety, crash avoidance, visibility, and post crash protection.
The BYD ETT 44 achieved 89% for Safe Driving, 73% for Crash Avoidance, and 80% for Post Crash Safety. One of the truck’s strongest areas was visibility, helped by its low cab layout, lower door window, and available digital mirror technology.
Euro NCAP testing also examined the truck’s ability to help avoid collisions with cars, pedestrians, and cyclists. While the ETT 44 performed particularly well in several vulnerable road user scenarios, the results also revealed areas where its collision avoidance and lane departure assistance could improve.
