00:00I'm Katie Neal from Odyssey Country, and tonight we're here for Odyssey Live from our friends at Bob's Discount Furniture
00:06with Shane Profitt.
00:07We were just, we weren't arguing, but we were discussing taxidermy, because we have a list of people who have
00:13promised taxidermy and not delivered any.
00:14You're on the list, but you've told me that something is at the taxidermist.
00:17I was messaging my taxidermist today, because not only does he have this fine specimen, but he's also got a
00:24turkey of mine.
00:25And I'm excited to get you yours, but I'm even more excited to get my turkey back.
00:28I mean, I don't blame you, but you were enlightening me, educating me that I did not realize that taxidermy
00:34takes a year and a half to two years.
00:36Now I feel bad for all the people I've been harassing.
00:39Oh, yeah. No, I mean, all good things come to those who wait.
00:43Well, I am one impatient woman.
00:46I am too. I am too. It's okay.
00:47You're also an impatient woman?
00:48Well, you never know. I'm not going to say that. But yes, I am impatient. I am impatient. I am
00:54impatient.
00:54It is so good to see you. I've heard that you have a big event coming up next month.
00:59Yeah, the Lauren Alaina tour. I'm just kidding.
01:02And now that is the biggest event you have now coming up next month.
01:05You're getting married next month.
01:06I am. I'm getting married. Yes, ma'am.
01:07How are you feeling about this?
01:09I'm nervous, excited.
01:11Yeah, I mean, me and Chloe, we've lived together now for almost two years.
01:17So I don't really think that much is going to change.
01:20It really, really set in.
01:22I mean, we've been making payments or whatever towards the wedding and picking out all the little details and everything.
01:29But it really didn't set in until like two weeks ago.
01:33So I went and I'd never wore a ring before.
01:37Oh, that's got to be weird.
01:39And I was like, oh, my gosh.
01:41And Chloe, you know, she's like, you have to have a gold one or a silver one or whatever.
01:44And I'm like, let's just get one of those rubber ones.
01:47And she's like, well, we can do that.
01:49But you also have to get a real one for like going out, I guess.
01:54So but yeah, I was like, let's just save the money and, you know, get a rubber one.
01:57So I just don't think I'm going to wear it.
01:59I'm not, you know, I think she's going to wear it.
02:02Yeah, I mean, I'm sure she will.
02:04But I even told her, I was like, you know, literally the night like after our wedding, we can go
02:09and get I'll get a ring tattoo right there.
02:11I would rather do that.
02:12That's nice.
02:12I've seen a lot of guys do that.
02:13Yeah, I would much rather do that.
02:14That way.
02:15I don't know.
02:16It is weird when you've never worn one before and then you got to put it on.
02:18It's like, yeah, so annoying.
02:20Every time you go wash your hands.
02:22Well, and I feel like, I don't know.
02:24I just feel like if I'm trying to, I don't know, grab a like a catfish on a trot line
02:29or something, you know, it might like catch on the ring or something.
02:32It might just it definitely might.
02:34I don't know.
02:35I just things to think about.
02:37Yeah.
02:37When you talk about the details of the wedding, what's like a little detail that, you know, maybe you've had
02:41some input in that you're really excited about what we're cutting the cake with.
02:46Can you say what you're cutting the cake with?
02:47Absolutely.
02:48I got a custom made pig stab and knife for South Texas when I was hunting with dogs.
02:53What does that look like?
02:55Like, how big is that?
02:56Like, you know, the knife crocodile Dundee had?
02:58Stop.
02:59It's like that.
03:00Except it's deer antler.
03:03And like the blade.
03:04I mean, it's probably got like a 11, 12 inch blade.
03:07I've never really seen a groom get so excited about the knife to cut the cake with.
03:11I am so excited for that.
03:13I really am.
03:14And then are you going to take it hunting with you afterwards?
03:16I already have.
03:16Oh, you have?
03:17Yeah, yeah.
03:18Shut up.
03:18I mean, we're going to clean it and sterilize it and everything.
03:21Oh, my.
03:22Yeah, yeah.
03:22We'll clean it good.
03:24Does Chloe know about that?
03:25Does she know that you've used it?
03:27Yeah, yeah.
03:27I mean, that was my non-negotiable was I wanted to do that.
03:32To cut the cake with that.
03:33Okay.
03:33I love that.
03:34What else have you got planned?
03:36Well, so we did that.
03:37And then also like the after party with what do you call it?
03:44What's the after?
03:45You know, the party.
03:46Yeah.
03:47The reception.
03:48Yeah.
03:48The reception.
03:49So after that, we're going to have like after party food.
03:53Okay.
03:54And I got to pick that.
03:54What'd you pick?
03:55Raisin Cane's.
03:56Oh, yeah, you did.
03:57We're having like.
03:58Nothing better than those chicken tendies.
04:00500 chicken strips coming in.
04:01Oh, my God.
04:02That's always the best.
04:03Everybody gets so excited for that part.
04:04Well, and everybody's going to be, you know, drunk.
04:07You think?
04:08I would say.
04:09I would say.
04:09I mean, we got an open bar.
04:11So.
04:12Wow.
04:12Your fancy open bar.
04:14Well, I mean, we had Jim Beam sent us like 40 bottles.
04:19That's exciting.
04:20They helped us out.
04:21And then we got some wine coming.
04:23And I mean, it's going to be the whole shebang.
04:26You're going to have a really nice time.
04:27What would you say is harder playing a sold out show or like learning like wedding lingo?
04:32Wedding lingo.
04:33No doubt.
04:34I can go up there.
04:35I mean, I can.
04:36I can.
04:37If I can grab a guitar, I can.
04:39I can normally, you know, be be fine.
04:42And it's weird because I'm not a shy person at all.
04:46But I am so nervous to get up there in front of everybody at the wedding because I don't
04:50know.
04:50It's normally normally when it's like me and shows, I can, you know, I can crack jokes
04:55and stuff.
04:56There is no joke cracking at all.
04:58You know, so I don't know.
05:00I think I'm just going to sneak a few in there.
05:02But, you know, wait till she's like down the aisle.
05:04And oh, yeah.
05:05Yeah.
05:05That's going to be so much fun.
05:06So our friends at Bob's Discount Furniture are celebrating four new locations in Tennessee
05:10and helping everyone obviously make their house into a home.
05:14And because you guys are also in the process of that, you said you've been in your house
05:16for two years.
05:17Who would you say like who gets final say on furniture and decor from the house?
05:22Chloe.
05:22Really?
05:23She just got.
05:23Yeah.
05:24Yeah.
05:24Oh, for sure.
05:26Her and actually her mother.
05:29And I don't mean that any bad way at all.
05:31Her mom was nice enough.
05:33She flew in.
05:34She lives in Florida.
05:35Her mother flew into town and helped Chloe paint.
05:38That's precious.
05:40When I was out on the road.
05:41So I came back in the house, look totally different.
05:44And I was like, looks good.
05:46So there's no like taxidermy in the house or is that allowed?
05:50Uh, it's allowed.
05:52Tasteful taxidermy.
05:53Maybe, um, like she likes, she doesn't like deer heads in the house.
05:58Um, so what I did as soon as I bought the house, um, I built a 800 square foot man
06:06room.
06:07A man room.
06:07I like.
06:08Yeah.
06:08It's my, it's my man studio.
06:10Yeah.
06:10Oh yeah, for sure.
06:11And like, I go in there, that's where I write a lot and, um, I'm filling it up with deer
06:16heads
06:16and turkeys and guys always crack me up.
06:18I'm like, you want these rooms to go hang out with all these dead things and then be creative.
06:21Like, it's just such a funny, I love it.
06:23I love that for you.
06:24You wrote a song for Chloe last name.
06:27This is a wedding gift that you wrote for her.
06:29When did you realize this was something that you were like going to share with the world
06:33as well?
06:34Yeah.
06:34Well, so originally I had the idea last name when I originally wrote the song, here's
06:40what's funny about it.
06:41When I wrote the song, I hadn't even met Chloe yet, but I wrote the song in the eyes of
06:46whoever
06:47my future forever would be.
06:48You manifested her.
06:49That's exactly right.
06:50Wow.
06:52And so, uh, that's a romantic.
06:54And so literally I'm not, I am not joking.
06:57Uh, the, the day that I officially asked her to be my girlfriend, I sent her the song.
07:03And, um, wow.
07:05My, playing it on thick.
07:07Yeah.
07:09Yeah.
07:09Yeah.
07:10Yeah.
07:10And so, um, anyways, I asked her to be my girlfriend, played her the song and, uh, I
07:17signed a new record deal.
07:18And that was one of the songs where I was like, I really, really want to cut this song.
07:22I played it for the label, played it for management.
07:24And everybody was like, wow, we a thousand percent need to get you in the studio for
07:29that.
07:29That's special.
07:30So we did.
07:30I've heard in addition to the wedding being next month, you also have a new single coming
07:33next month.
07:34Can you tell me about that?
07:34Ain't the kind of cold.
07:36Uh, and we were just talking about last name.
07:38They're kind of opposites.
07:40So last name is obviously for Chloe and, you know, happily ever after ain't the kind
07:45of cold is a breakup song.
07:48So it's, it's also one of those.
07:50So I, I have lots of friends in town and I'm, I'm very proud to call a lot of the
07:57songwriters
07:58in town, legitimate friends.
07:59We don't just work together.
08:01And, uh, one of the co-writers on the song, Matt, he was, he was going through a divorce
08:06at the time and, um, he had this, he had this drinking idea called ain't the kind of cold.
08:14And I was like, man, with what you're going through, what if we kind of, kind of flip
08:18it?
08:18Like the way she did me ain't the kind of cold that I had in mind.
08:21And so we sat down and we wrote the song and, uh, I am so far, I am so fired
08:27up for
08:27this song.
08:28This is a song that, I mean, honestly, I would, I would bet my career on.
08:34Oh, okay.
08:35I'm really excited.
08:36It's, uh, I've heard that you might play it for us tonight.
08:38Play it for us tonight.
08:39Play it.
08:40I've had this much bourbon and that's what.
08:42Wow.
08:43Cut her off.
08:44Cut her off.
08:45No.
08:46Uh, yeah, I definitely am playing it.
08:48I'll play it every chance I get.
08:49Well, we're very excited to hear it.
08:51You are currently out on tour with Lauren Alaina.
08:54I always love to know, like, what is in your tour survival kit?
08:57Like what is always got to go out on the road with you?
08:59Mm-hmm.
09:00You got anything?
09:02I was laughing the other day when you were like pulling your salami out of your guitar
09:05bag and putting it in Lauren's breast milk cooler on the plane.
09:08That's not salami.
09:08The way you say it, that just sounds terrible.
09:11It was summer sausage and it was in a, it was in a vacuum sealed bag.
09:16It's too meat.
09:16Let's get that clear.
09:17It was in the middle of the airport.
09:19Nothing crazy is going on.
09:21Um, but yes.
09:22Is it summer sausage salami?
09:23No.
09:25No?
09:26No.
09:26I grew up like a redneck.
09:27Like, I don't know.
09:28We did.
09:29I don't know.
09:29No, no, no.
09:30Salami's fancy.
09:31Salami's fancy.
09:33And I don't even like the word salami.
09:36I don't want to eat something called salami.
09:38Too Italian for you?
09:38Come on.
09:39It's weird.
09:41Let me get a chunk of that salami over here.
09:43Come on now.
09:44What the hell?
09:45That's crazy.
09:48Oh my God.
09:49What were we even talking about?
09:50What's in your tour survival kit?
09:51Not salami.
09:53Not, definitely not salami.
09:55Uh, I have a little Jesus.
09:58I have a little micro Jesus that I keep in my, I'm serious.
10:03I always keep it everywhere with me in my, in my travel bag.
10:06It's in my, it's in my toiletry bag.
10:08Did you ever watch modern family?
10:11I don't know what that is.
10:13Oh, it was a TV show, but Gloria, the wife on modern family, she goes to order baby cheeses,
10:18like little cheeses.
10:19And they send her a bunch of baby Jesus's like, cause she can't say, as you were saying
10:23though, that's all I could think.
10:24No, no.
10:25Yeah.
10:26But it's not Jesus.
10:27It's Jesus.
10:28Like Jesus.
10:30Jesus.
10:31I'm going to pull up the scene for you to see.
10:33Okay.
10:33That's incredible.
10:34Okay.
10:35All right.
10:35Moving on.
10:36But I keep him.
10:37I keep a little Jesus.
10:38Yeah.
10:39Yeah.
10:39And then, uh, I keep a beard oil.
10:42Okay.
10:42I have a straggly looking beard.
10:44No, you can't.
10:45Um, and plenty.
10:47I always keep an extra sticky deodorant and Irish spring.
10:50There we go.
10:51Yeah.
10:52Good to know.
10:52Um, this, Oh, this next, Oh, my moment is brought to us, uh, by Bob's discount furniture.
10:57I think everyone's got a moment in their career where they're like, Oh my, I can't believe
11:01this is happening right now.
11:02What would you say was like the most recent one of those for you where you're like, Oh
11:05my God, I'm doing it.
11:07Um, I would say career wise, definitely the Luke Bryan tour.
11:11That Luke Bryan tour was insane.
11:13Um, and just getting to hang out with Luke.
11:15He's such a fun guy.
11:17Like I can imagine the two of you must've just been giggling that whole time.
11:20I mean, Luke is definitely, um, there's a reason that Luke is a superstar that he is.
11:27And it's because he makes every single person, whether it be the guitar tech or the opener
11:32or his guitar player or whoever, even the people that are cooking the food backstage,
11:38he makes everybody feel so important.
11:41And that's, uh, that's one of the, I have definitely learned a lot from Luke.
11:46Um, but I would say just being on the Luke Bryan tour, uh, I mean, we were playing in
11:50front of 12 to 20,000 people at night.
11:52It's incredible.
11:52It's so special, but I would say definitely that.
11:55And then on the personal side, um, getting married for sure.
11:58Yeah.
11:58Very special.
11:59We're actually hanging out on some of the Bob's discount furniture right now.
12:02And I love the bit that you do on social media where you try to guess how expensive
12:05something is.
12:06So we're going to play that with Bob's furniture.
12:08Okay.
12:08We'll start with a rug.
12:09How much do you think that rug comes in it?
12:13It seems like a good quality rug, $400 to 99.
12:18You like, I guess how I guess I, yeah.
12:21What about that coffee table?
12:22Best guess there.
12:24I don't know.
12:25I'd like to take it home with me though.
12:26I need what else it picks up and it comes out.
12:29Is it for sale?
12:30Maybe.
12:32Is it for real?
12:33I'll buy it.
12:34If it's, you said it was discounted.
12:38Bob's discounted.
12:39Uh, I would guess that at five hundo, $499, right on the money for that one.
12:46I like it.
12:47The price is right.
12:48The price is right.
12:49That's coming home with me.
12:51What about this couch?
12:52What do you think?
12:52Do the pillows come with it or no?
12:54Yes.
12:55I'll throw in the pillows.
12:58Actually, the pillows did in fact come with it.
13:00They did actually?
13:01They came with actually like three times as many pillows.
13:03I don't know.
13:04Does this thing pull out?
13:05It does not.
13:05It's not a pull out couch.
13:06No.
13:07Hmm.
13:09I have bought a couch and I hate our couch.
13:13You do?
13:13I hate it.
13:14Okay.
13:16This is a nicer couch than my couch.
13:18Hmm.
13:18I got my couch off marketplace.
13:22I would say this couch is $1,400.
13:26$1,200.
13:28Bob's discount furniture, y'all.
13:30That's where it's at.
13:31Oh, yeah.
13:32Let's see what I can do about that coffee table for you.
13:33Can I take it?
13:34I got, I brought my truck.
13:36Well, you know what?
13:37When you bring that taxidermy, even trade.
13:41That's messed up.
13:43That's messed up.
13:44I'm just kidding.
13:45Chain Profit, thank you for coming and hanging out with us.
13:47Yeah, thank you for having me.
13:47It's really good to see you.
13:48I'm excited to hear this new song.
13:49So happy for all the good things that are happening to you.
13:51Thank you very much.
13:51I appreciate you.
