00:38Obviously Thursday's a few days away and we'll see how those negotiations transpire.
00:44Doctors want to manage fatigue and burnout by limiting shifts to 12 and a half hours
00:50and capping the number of consecutive night shifts.
00:52Hospitals won't stop for emergencies, but elective surgeries could be impacted.
00:58We are still going to be running our critical care areas such as our emergency departments,
01:02our intensive care units and neonatal intensive care units.
01:05The government has failed.
01:07They're failing these doctors, they're failing, ultimately they're failing Victorian patients.
01:12Meanwhile, newly released data shows more patients are being harmed in Victorian health services,
01:18reaching 217 instances in the 12 months to July last year.
01:2361% resulted in death.
01:26That's 132 people.
01:29It's a significant concern any loss of life in our health settings.
01:33As doctors say.
01:35Fatigued doctors make mistakes.
01:37And making mistakes, or the thought of making mistakes, is what keeps us up at night.
01:42The government wanted to talk about tackling the cost of living today.
01:46And Victorian Labor usually believes that health is one of its strong suits.
01:50But another round of strikes this close to the election won't help Ben Carroll in November.
