00:06nor'easter here in September has made impacts all the way from the Carolinas to here in
00:10Massachusetts. Far-reaching effects varied in different places. This is what it was like here
00:15on the coast of Massachusetts. Powerful September nor'easter impacted New England with folks here
00:25along the Massachusetts coast dealing with waves, heavy rain, and tropical storm force wind gusts
00:30all weekend long. Winds ramped up ahead of the biggest impacts on Friday while folks squeezed
00:34in some last minute outdoorsy activities before the rain arrived. The winds were blowing onshore
00:40pushing rough surf into barrier walls here near Plymouth, but as the storm strengthened and
00:44approached overnight Friday into Saturday, the rain would accompany even bigger waves. High tide around
00:52lunchtime Saturday brought pounding surf to situate with massive waves slamming into the barrier wall,
00:57sending salty ocean water over homes, and chasing off a few folks braving the elements to get a look.
01:02The onslaught of surf took on several hours of Saturday around high tide before laxing as the
01:08ocean retreated through the afternoon. Heavy rain would finally set in across the coast with torrential
01:12downpours here in Plymouth leading some ponding on local roads, but flash flooding was largely averted
01:17thanks to the off-and-on nature of the heaviest rains through the night. Sunday morning saw the rain
01:22and wind continuing, but conditions, while still miserable, were much less battering today,
01:26bringing people back out between the rain showers, happy the storm was mostly missed.
01:32Chilly rain continues through the rest of the evening into the overnight hours. Fortunately,
01:36the winds have come down, and that will be some of the good news, at least, as we head into
01:40tonight.
01:41And then as we get into Tuesday, things will finally start to ease up a little bit and clear out
01:45and dry out. And the fall colors, folks, will be the next show, hopefully, you guys will be looking
