Israel’s territory changed dramatically over time, from the ancient kingdoms of Israel and Judah to Roman conquest, Jewish dispersal, and the long absence of an independent Jewish state. This historical map-style explainer traces how the region passed between empires, then shifted again after World War I when Britain took Palestine from the Ottoman Empire.

As Zionism grew and more Jews moved to Palestine alongside an existing Arab population, the UN proposed dividing the land into separate Jewish and Arab states. Israel declared independence in 1948, war followed, and the new state expanded beyond the UN border. The video also covers the Six-Day War, later Israeli control of the Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank, and Golan Heights, and the return of Sinai to Egypt.

Created for viewers interested in Middle East history, Israel and Palestine explained, historical maps, geopolitical timelines, and documentary-style history narration. It’s useful for students, teachers, and anyone searching for a clear overview of the history of Israel, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and territorial change in the region.
