00:02EU foreign ministers met on Monday to strengthen the bloc's response to hybrid attacks.
00:08They have been tasked with developing the EU's emergency security protocol
00:12designed to help EU countries coordinate their responses when a hybrid threat is identified.
00:18Of course we need to be vigilant because we see in the intelligence that Russia is planning more
00:24sabotage acts and actually attacks against our democracy to divide our society,
00:30to intimidate our societies from refraining to help Ukraine.
00:35So this is something that they have in mind.
00:40And we have to keep this in mind as well to be standing up to these threats.
00:46The urgency has been underscored by a series of recent incidents
00:50including the breach of Finnish airspace by a Russian aircraft on Friday,
00:54prompting Finnish and Swedish authorities to scramble fighter jets.
00:58The Finnish defense minister said this incident should serve as a springboard for Europe to strengthen its air defenses.
01:05We need money, we need joint procurements, we need cooperation.
01:10The incident came on the same day that the Danish Defense Intelligence Service
01:15set the risk of Russian military action against NATO countries was growing
01:19while describing an outright invasion as highly unlikely but not impossible.
