The Government has accorded Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali a State Funeral following her death at the National Heart Institute (IJN) Monday (Sept 28) morning.  Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he has directed Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Chief of Defence Forces General Tan Sri Malek Razak Sulaiman to assist with funeral arrangements and conduct. 00:07In a statement on Monday, the Prime Minister said he has directed the Chief Secretary to the government

00:16and accord the late Dr. Siti Hasma state funeral honours, befitting a national statesman.

00:22The wife of former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Muhammad

00:26passed away at the National Heart Institute at 9.20am on Monday.

00:31IJN declined to issue any statement regarding her passing.

00:35Her remains were taken to the couple's residence at the mines in Seri Kambangan, before burial.

00:42Prior to the Prime Minister's statement, Dr. Mahathir's media representative announced

00:46that funeral prayers for Dr. Siti Hasma will be held after Asar prayers

00:51at Masjid As-Sharif in Taman Sungai Besi Indah,

00:55before burial at the precinct 20 Muslim Cemetery in Putrajaya.
