ಬಿಡದಿ ಉಪನಗರ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಭೂಸ್ವಾಧೀನವನ್ನು ವಿರೋಧಿಸಿ ಬೈರಮಂಗಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಹೋರಾತ್ರಿ ಉಪವಾಸ ಸತ್ಯಾಗ್ರಹ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ರೈತರಿಗೆ ಮಾಜಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಹೆಚ್.ಡಿ.ದೇವೇಗೌಡರು ಧೈರ್ಯ ತುಂಬಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮಾಜಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಹೆಚ್.ಡಿ. ದೇವೇಗೌಡರು ದೂರವಾಣಿ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾ ನಿರತ ರೈತರ ಜೊತೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಧೈರ್ಯ ತುಂಬಿದರು. ರೈತರ ನ್ಯಾಯಯುತ ಹೋರಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾವು ಜೊತೆಗಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಫಲವತ್ತಾದ ಕೃಷಿ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಬಲವಂತವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಕ್ರಮದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ರೈತರು ತೀವ್ರ ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda extended his support to farmers staging an overnight hunger strike at Bairamangala against land acquisition for the proposed Bidadi Township project
Speaking to the protesting farmers over a phone/video call, Deve Gowda urged them not to lose courage and assured them of his support for their agitation. He has previously urged the Karnataka government to reconsider the project and avoid acquiring fertile agricultural land.
