00:02Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used part of his UN speech Thursday to go after someone
00:07much closer to home, New York City Mayor Zoran Mamdani. Netanyahu accused Mamdani of anti-Semitism
00:14and said Jewish New Yorkers have told him they no longer feel safe in the city.
00:19Shame on you. Shame on you for distorting the facts. Shame on you for inverting victim and
00:26aggressor. Shame on you for spitting in the face of truth. Mr. Mamdani, since you were elected mayor
00:35of this city, many Jews no longer feel safe in New York. They talk to me. They tell me.
00:43This isn't the city we remember. It changed so quickly. Mamdani wasn't there, and delegates from
00:50dozens of countries walked out before Netanyahu spoke. The mayor responded in a statement saying,
00:55quote, Yet no lie can change the fact that he remains the subject of an international criminal
01:00court arrest warrant alleging war crimes and crimes against humanity. Netanyahu denies those charges.
01:07Shortly before the speech, Mamdani posted this video, no words, just the mayor planting an olive
01:13tree at Gracie Mansion and sharing a meal with Palestinian families from Gaza. His caption,
01:19May peace be our future. These two have been going at each other for months. Mamdani has called
01:24Netanyahu a war criminal and urged the federal government to arrest him. In this video posted
01:29earlier this week, Netanyahu accused Mamdani of supporting Hamas and inciting riots against Jewish
01:35New Yorkers. Mamdani has condemned Hamas as a terrorist organization, and according to the New York
01:40Times, there have been no riots targeting Jewish New Yorkers since he took office. And Mamdani is now
01:46showing up in Israeli politics. Netanyahu is running for re-election next month. His Likud party has put
01:53Mamdani's face on campaign billboards in Israel right there alongside the leaders of Iran, Turkey,
01:59and Hezbollah. Netanyahu also posted this AI-generated campaign video earlier this month,
02:05imagining Mamdani and other Netanyahu opponents celebrating his defeat.
