Some encounters arrive quietly, right in the middle of an ordinary meal.
Inside a parked car, a man sits with a McDonald’s burger in his hands. A small group of birds flutters in and settles along the car’s wing mirror, balancing close to the window. The man breaks off small pieces of the burger and holds them out one at a time. Each bird leans in to take a bite, then lifts off, making room as another bird moves forward on the mirror.
