Some daily routines arrive with their own small rules.
A cat sits inside at a window as a red bird flutters close to the glass.
"My cat Justice had an unusual friendship with this cardinal for almost a year. Every day, the bird would come and tease her through the window," the filmer, Michelle, told WooGlobe.
The bird darts and hovers near the pane while the cat watches intently, then springs upward toward it. Each time, the cat’s paws meet the window and slide back down as the bird lifts away and circles again.
With the glass in between, the chase stays neatly contained on both sides.
The moment settles into a quiet back-and-forth in Oldtown, Maryland.
