00:49steadfast leadership on this issue.
00:51Well, today, as Trump whines and dines President Xi at the White House, he has a choice to make.
00:57Once again, bend the knee to the CCP or to stand up to Xi and defend our national security
01:05and keep U.S. ahead of China on AI.
01:10That's why today we are calling on Trump to stand up for the nation's security by once
01:16and for all blocking China's access to our AI chips and manufacturing equipment.
01:23President Trump must draw a hard line.
01:26Do not weaken America's export controls.
01:29Do not give China greater access to the advanced chips and chip-making equipment it needs to close
01:36the gap with the United States.
01:39Why?
01:40Because Trump is currently giving away our greatest advantage in the AI race by greenlighting
01:46the sale of advanced AI chips to China.
01:52China has always been desperate to get our AI chips, that they have set up elaborate ways,
01:59they've set up elaborate ways to smuggle them, something the Trump administration has failed
02:05to stop and has only made easier for them to acquire.
02:08As we've been waiting for years – as we've been warning for years, rather – Trump cannot
02:15let the CCP get its hands on our most advanced chips and the manufacturing equipment needed
02:22to produce them.
02:24Trump could take action today to make this happen.
02:28A bipartisan group of senators has introduced legislation to update and strengthen our export
02:34controls.
02:35They are the MATCH Act, the AI Overwatch Act, and the CHIP Security Act.
02:40We have worked with Republican partners – each of these is a bipartisan piece of legislation
02:46in both chambers – to include this critical legislation in the NDAA negotiations.
02:52The Senate could pass all three bills today
02:55– and protect our national security and keep U.S. AI tech out of China's hands.
03:04Trump is the very first president who has negotiated away our export controls,
03:11our national security to the Chinese.
03:13Put simply, Trump is handing China the technology it needs to win the AI race.
03:23Trump said, quote, the only guardrails AI needs is a strong and smart president.
03:28Well, that's as wrong as it is stupid.
03:31We must reject the false choice Trump keeps making.
03:35We can and must both maintain our lead on AI by restricting China's access to our technology
03:42and put up guardrails to mitigate AI's risk.
03:46So it's time for Trump to stand up to Xi for the sake of American and global security.
03:53Trump, stop fawning over strongmen.
03:56Stop calling Xi a great gentleman.
03:59We must act now before it's too late.
