00:00A derelict 18th century manor house in Wakefield could be transformed into a school for youngsters
00:06with special educational needs. Plans have been submitted to convert Lupset Hall into
00:12an educational facility for around 70 pupils. The Grade 2 star-listed property dates back
00:18to 1716 and was the home of Wakefield's first MP, but has been tragically neglected in recent
00:25years. The building also served as the clubhouse for the city's municipal golf club before
00:31Wakefield Council sold it in 2013. Plans were twice put forward to convert the site into
00:37housing, but neither were completed. Nine Points property has applied to the council for the
00:43change of use.
