00:04Investigations. Today's announcement follows a recent case in Utah involving allegations
00:10that hundreds of mail-in ballots entrusted for delivery to registered voters were unlawfully
00:16discarded. Although I cannot elaborate on the investigative details beyond what has
00:20already been discussed here today, this matter underscores a very important point.
00:25Homeland Security Investigations is one of the primary investigative agencies tasked
00:30to root out any allegation of criminal conduct that may affect election integrity, lawful
00:36voting access, citizenship, identity, or other official processes. HSI conducts coordinated
00:44criminal investigative efforts focused on protecting the integrity of lawful voting processes and
00:50addressing related violations of federal law, including credible allegations of voter fraud
00:55where they arise. HSI has recently generated more than 1,600 voter fraud cases, leading to
01:03more than 160 recent arrests. This effort brings together HSI, the Department of Justice, U.S.
01:11Attorney's offices across the country, CIS, and our federal, state, and local partners to
01:17ensure credible allegations are examined thoroughly, lawfully, and based on evidence.
