The best truck in the world — or well, that’s what Scania says. This is the new Scania Dynamic.
The NTG platform is the most successful in the brand’s history, and with Dynamic they’ve pushed it to its technical limit, trying to squeeze every last bit out of it. Aerodynamics have been improved, giving an approximate fuel saving of between 2% and 3%.
Look at the grille: it’s now more closed. That’s possible thanks to the huge thermal efficiency of its engines, both the Super range and the massive V8s. Since they need less airflow for cooling, Scania was able to close the truck’s front end.
And that philosophy repeats across the whole truck: redesigned door handles, longer side deflectors, a front end slightly stretched forward, aerodynamic hubcaps… every surface was refined to cut through the air more precisely, promising savings of €5,000 every 300,000 kilometers.
But where Scania truly surprises is in safety. Besides the cameras that now replace the mirrors, Scania introduces Safe Stop Assist: a system capable of detecting if the driver loses control due to a sudden medical emergency, taking over to avoid an accident, stopping the truck safely and even calling emergency services and sending its location.
