00:14I was going back and forth with this when we were giving our scheduled predictions at the beginning of the

00:18because I felt like the Bengals were going to star 1-1 in some way.
00:21I initially thought they might fall in week one.
00:24They ended up beating the Bucs there.
00:26I just don't, I don't know, I don't feel great about this one on Sunday
00:30given that the Texans are coming off a loss, have a hard time seeing them drop 2 at home.
00:35I'm going to say the Texans are going to get this one done.
00:39I'm going 24-23, so it's going to be a close one.

00:44Breaking your heart.
00:45Just rips my heart out of my chest.
00:47Yeah, that's a tough way to lose.
00:49How do they lose?
00:51I think they're going to have the lead,
00:53but that Houston's going to kick a last-minute field goal or something to that effect.

01:10So now, Jay, spoiler, is on Houston.

01:17I picked Houston when we went through the schedule game earlier this offseason,
01:21but it's amazing what can happen in so many weeks.
01:24I got the Bengals.
01:25I think the Bengals are going to go down to Houston and get this done.
01:29The defense in week one looked a lot better than I expected early in the season.
01:32I have the Bengals escaping with a 27-24 victory.
01:37So Texans still get their 24, but the Bengals find a way to get three more,
01:42get the win, escape Houston.
01:43It's not going to be pretty.
01:45It's not going to be fun, but at least the Bengals win in this prediction.
01:48Yeah, there we go.
01:50Look, I do not expect this to be some pretty game.
01:53It's going to be physical.
01:55Joe's going to get hit.
01:56It's going to happen.
01:58Chase Brown is going to struggle to get yards at times.
02:01Jamar Chase is going to have a pass broken up where he's open,
02:03and Derek Stingley makes a heck of a play.
02:05All these things are going to happen.
02:07The things that I'm really looking, because we know about Joe and Jamar,
02:10and we know about these guys,
02:12can they control the trenches defensively?
02:15Last week it felt like for large stints of the game,
02:18they were winning in the trenches on both sides.
02:20That hasn't been the case in a long time.
02:23If ever in the Burrow era, like consistently, especially on the offensive line,
02:27but even defensive line, it's been years since that's been the case.
02:31That's what travels.
02:32We had Mike Renner on, and he said that, and that stuck with me,
02:34because that will travel.
02:36You could take that anywhere.
02:38And so I think that if they're going to win,
02:40we're going to be talking about the trenches on Sunday.
02:43I think this is going to be ugly is relative.
02:46I don't think this is going to be a firework show on offense, though.
02:49I do expect them to move the ball.
02:51I think Joe's going to play better.
02:52I think he's going to be seeing the field better.
02:53I don't expect this back issue to really impact him from an effectiveness standpoint on Sunday.

03:07But that's my expectation at this point.

03:18Evan McPherson is going to continue with two awesome games back-to-back.
03:22He's going to have three field goals, two from 50-plus.
03:25The Bengals are going to score two touchdowns.
03:27Evan's going to make both of those extra points.
03:30And we're going to be talking about how Evan is a huge reason why the Bengals are 2-0.
03:36They get the win 23-20.
03:39Is that enough for back-to-back special teams player of the week?
03:42Might be.
03:43Especially if it's the game winner late, which I just made it.

03:51That would be fun.

03:55I like that we all have it close.
03:58Either way, you have this game going, it's a very close one.
04:01These are two teams that match up well against each other.
04:03I think a lot of the questions you have about this Bengals team still,
04:06whether it's the offensive line or the linebackers,
04:08that's stuff the Texans like to live on with an elite pass rush and a tight end
04:11that's a huge piece of their offense.
04:12This is a great place early in the season to see where this Bengals team is.
04:17The Buccaneers are certainly a level below the Texans.
04:21I think this is a great opportunity to see where the Bengals stack up in a loaded AFC,
04:26or at least it seems that way early.
04:27Yeah.
04:28It is.
04:29This should be a close one.
04:31There is a little bit of me, though, that worries that the Texans are going to jump out on them
04:35and this is going to be one of those road matchups.
04:38We've seen this before, especially if Jay's right with the Cleveland vibes.
04:43And it does make sense.
04:45Derek Stingley, great pass rush.
04:47Denzel Ward, great pass rush.
04:49There are some similarities between the Browns and the Texans historically.
04:54And we've seen the Browns have the Bengals number.
04:56So that is in the back of my mind.
04:58I think the Bengals are just going to play well.
04:59The defense is going to be an anchor, but I could see it going the other way.
05:02Yeah, I think the big question is what version of C.J. Stroud are the Bengals going to face on
05:06Sunday?
05:07Is it going to be the C.J. Stroud that looked pretty good in week one
05:10or the C.J. Stroud that we've seen at times when the big games hit where lights aren't as bright?
05:16Just the discrepancy over the last couple years of C.J. Stroud against the Blitz versus not,
05:21I feel like you can almost choose which version of C.J. Stroud you get
05:25as the Bengals go the same direction they did against the Bucs and are able to get pressure with four.
