00:00Well another week and more decisive votes in Germany where two big elections have taken place
00:07this weekend and we've just seen the exit polls released for both of these. Now of course
00:12we've got Friedrich Merz as the Conservative Chancellor in Germany under huge huge pressure.
00:21The coalition that he's been in with with the Social Democrats has been a disaster. It has
00:27seen the AFD reaching unprecedented levels of support and you can see here in one of these
00:33votes today in the Mecklenburg for Parmen vote you can see there some doubt as to whether the
00:42Conservatives would even hit the five percent threshold to get seats in the state parliament
00:49and one inside the party saying that would mean all hell breaks loose and just to show by the way
00:55the extent to which the Conservatives and Social Democrats have dropped support in Germany.
01:01One poll actually having the AFD on 30 percent with the Conservatives 10 points behind and the SPD,
01:09the Social Democrats, not even third anymore overtaken by the Greens. The indications today
01:15in both the Mecklenburg for Parmen vote and indeed you can see there the Berlin vote is that turnout
01:23has been up again. Indications that turn up from the previous vote and in terms of how things are
01:31looking and again these are exit polls so they might be a bit out but in terms of the general
01:35steer on
01:37where things are heading. First of all you can see in the Mecklenburg for Parmen election that AFD
01:44are forecast now to win. So that had come off the back of that Saxony-Arnholt victory
01:50for the AFD. It looks like they may now win in another part of Germany as well with the Social
01:56Democrats in second, the left party in third, the Greens fourth and the CDU Conservatives right on
02:04that five percent threshold. So it could be very very close as to whether the Conservatives win
02:10any seats at all in Mecklenburg for Parmen. In Berlin, really interesting here. The left party
02:18it seems will win that election in Berlin. The Conservatives in second place but dropping
02:26significantly. You can see there the Greens in third but they're also down a little bit. The
02:31Social Democrats down as well and the AFD only fourth but picking up support whilst the other
02:38parties around them there lose support apart from the left party there forecast to win. So more dramatic
