00:18The United States is warning Americans in Israel and across the Middle East to remain on heightened
00:24alert as regional tensions continue to create a volatile and unpredictable security environment.
00:31A new U.S. security alert says the situation in the region remains complex, with the possibility
00:38of unforeseen escalation. The warning specifically tells Americans currently in the Middle East
00:44to exercise heightened vigilance and prepare for possible disruptions to travel.
00:49That includes potential flight cancellations, airspace closures and sudden changes to airline operations.
00:57For Americans planning to travel to or from Israel, the message is to check directly with their airline
01:03and monitor airport operations before heading to the airport.
01:08The warning comes as tensions continue across multiple fronts in the Middle East,
01:13with the United States pointing to the possibility of rapid escalation.
01:17The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem and other American diplomatic missions are urging citizens not to assume
01:24that normal travel schedules will continue if the security situation changes.
01:29And there is already an established warning from the U.S. State Department.
01:34Israel remains under a Level 3 travel advisory, reconsider travel, because of terrorism and unrest.
01:41The State Department says the security environment in Israel is complex and can change quickly.
01:47It also warns that violence can occur without warning, while increased regional tensions can cause airlines
01:53to cancel or limit flights into and out of Israel.
01:57The warning also comes amid broader security concerns involving Iran, Iranian-supported groups,
02:03and ongoing military tensions across the region.
02:07U.S. officials say American diplomatic facilities have previously been targeted,
02:12while Iran and groups supportive of Iran could potentially target U.S. interests or locations associated with Americans overseas.
02:20That means the warning is not limited to airports.
02:23Americans are also being urged to remain aware of their surroundings, avoid demonstrations and large gatherings,
02:30and follow instructions issued by local authorities.
02:33The U.S. is also advising Americans to keep track of official updates and maintain communication in case conditions change
02:41rapidly.
02:42For those already in Israel, basic emergency preparations are being emphasized.
02:47Americans are encouraged to know where their nearest protected or sheltered location is, keep their phones charged,
02:55and have essential supplies available.
02:56They are also being told to monitor local media and official security alerts, particularly if there are indications of rocket,
03:04missile, or drone activity.
03:06And travelers are being reminded that airline schedules can change with little notice when airspace restrictions are imposed.
03:13The situation is particularly significant because Israel is not currently under a blanket Level 4 Do Not Travel advisory.
03:22Instead, the broader country advisory remains Level 3, while certain areas, including areas near Gaza, parts of northern Israel,
03:30and sections near the Egypt border carry stronger restrictions.
03:35The warning, therefore, does not mean that every American in Israel has been ordered to leave.
03:39Instead, it is a call for heightened vigilance and preparation as officials assess a security environment that can change quickly.
03:48The U.S. Department is also maintaining elevated travel warnings for several countries across the region.
03:54Saudi Arabia, for example, is currently listed at Level 3,
03:58with the U.S. citing risks including Iranian drone and missile targeting of American interests, armed conflict, and terrorism.
