00:00So we set out our tenure violence against women and girls strategy along with the commitment to halving it in
00:05a decade.
00:06What we also said we wanted to do was to have a real focus on tackling these problems even before
00:10we get to that stage.
00:11So this is a new focus that will bring together government, campaigners, national expertise and local leaders
00:17to really focus on tackling these attitudes that mean that women live smaller lives,
00:22that they make decisions not to go out or they don't feel they can go to certain places
00:26or they're worried about their safety in their homes or on the streets.
00:30And I'm really excited to be taking forward this work and look forward to making sure that this is a
00:35country
00:35where women can have those choices and freedoms and don't feel constrained.
