00:00Mike's business partner, using the court system, convinced the judge to issue what is called a
00:04bench warrant. The journalist and them decided to tell everyone that I was a fugitive on the run.
00:09Everything crumbled after that. Most people get to fail privately. I had to fail publicly in front
00:13of everyone, and everyone was an audience. It was me going against a major regional institution,
00:19and I lost that battle. I was emotionally weak. I was physically weak. I was tired. I was beaten
00:24up. I had one person just harassing me all the time, and I just believed him. When he said,
00:28I'll never stop hunting anyone. I'll never let you go. I believed him. There's so much shame that
00:33comes out of failure, and I felt all of that. He didn't care that I ended up homeless. He didn't
00:38care that I lost everything. He just didn't care. He was like, that's not payment enough. I mean,
00:42they crippled me. I mean, these are major, powerful institutions that said they did an investigation.
00:47They didn't. He continued to find people that were willing to support him and not me, and it gave him
00:51all of this authority over me. I got kicked out of another apartment because the landlord was like,
00:56listen, I don't rent a criminal, so you got to leave. I was like, I'm not a criminal. How do
01:00I
01:00prove this to people? That's when I absolutely knew. A narrative was created that I should not
01:05be seen as a human being, and then I chose to agree with it, and then when I agreed with
01:10it,
01:10I'm like, there's nothing here left for me.
