00:31on 27 September last year under the snapback mechanism of the 2015 nuclear deal, remain in
00:38effect. They freeze Iranian assets abroad, restrict arms deals with Tehran, and penalize the development
00:46of its ballistic missile program. France, Germany, and the UK triggered the snapback provision,
00:53which restored the Security Council sanctions committee and authorized the panel of experts
00:58to monitor compliance. Thursday's veto removes oversight without lifting the underlying sanctions.
