00:00Iran says it is working with China and Russia to block the return of European sanctions over its nuclear program.
00:08Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi tells State Television that Tehran will make every effort to prevent the sanctions from being reimposed.
00:16He added that if those efforts failed, Iran had tools to respond, the details of which would be revealed later.
00:23Britain, France and Germany, known as the E3, informed United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres that they were ready to act.
00:33They said sanctions would return if no diplomatic solution was reached by the end of August.
00:39All three nations were signatories to the 2015 agreement that eased sanctions in exchange for limits on Iran's nuclear activities.
00:47Araqchi described the possible return of sanctions as a negative step but insisted the predicted economic impact had been overstated.
