00:00Andrew Ferguson is the vice chairman of the task force to eliminate fraud.
00:03He joins us tonight.
00:04Thank you for joining us, Andrew.
00:06You know, Americans, as you know, are the most generous people on Earth.
00:11And they give to charities and then they allow their tax dollars to be spent to help people.
00:19And then the government does this with it.
00:22Yeah, it's outrageous.
00:23And I could not have put it better than Vice President Vance.
00:27This is not that complicated.
00:28You've got to do two things if you want to protect American taxpayers.
00:32You have to make sure that money doesn't go out the door to the wrong people for the wrong purpose.
00:36And when it does, throw them in jail.
00:39And that is what the government has been doing this week.
00:41I was with Vice President Vance in Kansas City where he announced some big charges.
00:45And then in L.A. this week, look, the L.A. problem is huge.
00:49This has been going on for years under the Democrats here in Los Angeles and the Biden administration.
00:54They turned on the spigot money flooded into L.A. and homelessness got worse.
00:59And our superstar HUD secretary, Scott Turner, turned off the spigot.
01:03We cut off hundreds of millions of dollars that were otherwise going out to the door to the wantonly, hopelessly
01:09corrupt L.A.
01:10homelessness authority.
01:10And now we're putting these guys in jail.
01:13That's how you stop the fraud.
01:14And the vice president's right.
01:15This is not hard.
01:16But it took President Trump to make this happen.
01:20And, you know, we saw this with COVID as well, where there are simply no safeguards set up.
01:26But I do think that it is more than just sort of a blind eye.
01:30You have these operations that are set up that become kind of a cottage industry of their own.
01:36And it's all taxpayer money.
01:38And, of course, they get it by bullying you, talking about how virtuous they are and they need this money.
01:45And then they do the most evil thing possible, take money that was supposed to go to a homeless person
01:50or a drug addict and go spend it on Herms or Tahiti.
01:56I couldn't agree more.
01:57Let me give another example of our California work this week.
02:00On Tuesday, we announced the arrest of 10 people in San Diego that were running ghost daycares.
02:06These were people from Iraq, Somalia, Sudan, Afghanistan.
02:10They came to this country, and instead of working, trying to improve their lives and improve this country, they took
02:17advantage of the generosity of American citizens, took their money, opened up fake daycares, took tens of millions of dollars,
02:25and out the door it went.
02:26Foreigners coming to this country and stealing from American citizens.
02:29President Trump is saying no more.
02:32He's shutting this down, and these people are going to jail thanks to the Department of Justice.
02:36How much of this is getting exposed because the president has closed the border and put his foot down at
02:44the behest of American voters who are sick and tired of having open borders?
02:48How much of this is being exposed because of that?
02:51I have no doubt that part of the reason we are succeeding in this fraud fight is because the president
02:56has cut off access to people from outside the United States who want to come here and rob American citizens
03:02blind.
03:02It isn't just foreigners and immigrants that do this by any stretch of the imagination, but there's no doubt that
03:08it was a huge incentive to come to this country and to try to steal from the federal piggy bank
03:13and steal from American citizens.
03:15And President Trump, shutting down the border, has eliminated that incentive, and that is protecting American citizens, and it is
03:21part of this fraud fight.
03:23But we have become known around the world as an easy mark, and it's our responsibility to maintain our own
03:28borders.
03:29We were an easy mark before President Trump.
03:32Yeah, indeed.
