00:06amendment, but I'm glad that it was brought to my attention and now I'm going to bring
00:12it to yours. Check it out. Every politician who told you what gun rights they're willing
00:17to let you keep just got corrected by a Supreme court justice, Clarence Thomas on Ted Cruz's
00:22podcast talking about what he tells his own clerks. And then from that, you know, you
00:29give up some of those God given natural rights in order to be governed. And what does that
00:38lead to? That leads to the constitution. You know, I was pointing out to my clerks the other
00:43day because you get these second amendment cases. And I said, you know, there is no, why
00:49do we keep saying there's a second amendment right? The second amendment says the right
00:54to bear arms shall not be infringed. It assumes a right. It doesn't grant a right.
01:0210 seconds. The right was already there before anybody wrote a word of the constitution. The
01:07amendment is a fence around it and the fence faces the government. So when a governor or
01:11senator stands up and talks about the guns, they'll allow, they've got the whole thing
01:15upside down. And Thomas is telling the people who helped draft Supreme court opinions to stop
01:20talking like that. He's got the order, right? Rights first, government second. And in case
01:24you think that's a nice legal theory, he leaves at the office, just as Breyer once got robbed
01:29at his place in Nevis. And he put a hypothetical to Thomas about it.
01:32So Clarence, I had a question for you. You're on your porch, you're playing bridge with another
01:41couple, you and your wife, and a guy walks up with a machete. What would you do? And I said,
01:49I don't play bridge. He said, okay, okay, you're playing poker. And the guy walks up with a machete
01:58and he says, he demands money. What would you do? He said, I don't play poker. I don't play card
02:04Steve. He said, what would you be doing on your porch? I said, cleaning my guns.
02:10And I said, do you want some catch up with that?
02:12Catch up with that. A sitting Supreme court justice, a man with a machete, and his answer
02:17is I've got it covered. Same guy who wrote the majority opinion in Bruin. He rules on it and
02:22he lives it. Now, the funny part is the easy part. Later in that conversation, Thomas walks
02:26screws through why the 14th amendment, the one that made freed slave citizens, was argued in
02:31Congress with the right to bear arms sitting in the middle of the debate and who was getting killed
02:35while the argument was happening. That's the part the gun control crowd never brings up.
