Christian Siriano transported New York Fashion Week into an enchanted world of romance, fantasy and flowery beauty with his Spring/Summer 2027 runway show at Cipriani Broadway on Thursday evening. Evan Rachel Wood, Billy Porter, Whoopi Goldberg, Debra Messing, Mena Suvari, JoJo, Tiffany Haddish, Brandy, Supriya Ganesh, Bronwyn Newport and Kristy Scott were among the stars who came out to support the designer. Inspired by 18th-century France and the forgotten French fairytale 'The Queen of the Flowery Isles,' the collection imagined a mysterious queen surrounded by flowers, beauty, decadence and escape. Corsetry, dramatic volume, delicate lace, ornate embroidery and lavish textiles were reimagined through sculptural flowers, cascading ruffles and soft layers of chiffon and tulle. 'Anywhere Christian is, I will follow,' said Debra Messing, who has worn Siriano's designs for two decades. 'I think I was the very first person to ask him to make something for me right after he won 'Project Runway.'' Evan Rachel Wood, attending her first fashion show, praised Siriano's creativity and commitment to diversity. 'I love everything he stands for. I love his diversity. I love his designs, and he's a wonderful person to be around.' Brandy celebrated her return to Fashion Week for the first time since her 20s, sharing, 'I love Christian Siriano. He has done so many great things with me, and I'm just so happy to be invited.' On the runway, longtime Siriano model Coco Rocha brought the drama the designer's shows are known for. 'There's a certain expectation when you're coming to watch a Christian Siriano show that the models are in it to win it,' she said. Rocha also joked about his direction during rehearsals: 'He's like, 'Coco, not too much.' Then he's like, 'Coco, more. Coco, give.'' Together, the fashion, front row and theatrical runway energy brought Siriano's modern fairytale vividly to life.
