00:57Throughout all these years, what did it mean to you to see Vince win tonight as well?
01:01Oh, my God. I started crying.
01:02Like, it's just like, first of all, I didn't know it was his first one.
01:05So now I'll probably cry more.
01:06But I just I just love him getting the accolades he deserves because he's not only as good as as
01:14you see his work.
01:14And obviously, he is a genius at what he does.
01:17He is kind.
01:19He's not a pushover.
01:20And he's, you know, an incredible artist in what he's making.
01:23But he's one of those examples where you get to say, like, no, no, no, you do not have to
01:28be an ass to get ahead in this business.
01:30He is kind and collaborative and respectful.
01:34And when I said up there that, like, he creates spaces where you can take risks, it's literally because he
01:40treats you like you are of value.
01:42You're not here to try to prove that you deserve the job.

02:31How do you read a script, a new script for a new episode?
02:33What's your process to sort of absorb what's happening?
02:38It has to be completely quiet.
02:39No distractions whatsoever.
02:41I have to know that absolutely nothing will happen for the period of time that I read it from beginning
02:45to end, at least the very first time.
02:48Then I read it again.
02:50Then I read it again.
02:51And then I start doing the breakdown of the work.
02:54So when do you, because you said that you don't know how the series ends.
02:58I do.
02:58With season one, did you get all the scripts at once?
03:01No, one at a time.
03:02It was like that on Saul, too.
03:04Yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:04Only because of the strikes did I end up having three complete scripts.
03:11Like, they have drafts, but then they go through multiple people, and then Vince does a final pass and all
03:15of that.
03:15But because of the strikes, I had three of the pluribus ones, and I was very thankful.
03:20So I keep trying to push them just because it enabled, because the amount of scenes that I'm in, it
03:26enabled me to, like, get a little bit ahead of the prep.
03:28Because normally you're getting the next one around halfway through shooting the one that you're on.
03:35So it isn't like you end one on Friday, and now you have the weekend to go over Monday's work.
03:41Like, it could be Wednesday to Thursday that you're switching over.
03:44Do you think it's helpful as an actor, though, that you're basically where the audience is, that when you're shooting
03:48you don't know what's coming next?
03:50Sometimes, yeah, yeah.
03:51I mean, it's a different way to work.
03:53I mean, certainly if you're doing a play like I have done, or a movie, I'm looking at the most
03:59interesting arc from A to B.
04:01So knowing where B is, I'm working, I'm reverse engineering to figure out where the A is the most interesting.
04:06So in this, I don't know what the B is.
04:08So you do.
04:08You have to stay very present and pay more attention to just playing the story beats, each one one at
04:14a time.
04:15And then I lean on Vince and my other directors.
04:17Like, they know, like, if this is supposed to go in a certain direction and what I'm doing doesn't take
04:22us where we need to get, then they'll let me know.
04:24Where are you going to keep your Emmy?
04:27In one of my favorite spaces to be, which is it's a partially converted garage.
04:33As messy, but slightly neat, neatened from time to time, painting studio, art studio, and my office where I read
04:40scripts.
