00:00What have you seen from the Padres as they hold this last wildcard spot
00:04heading into the last few weeks here?
00:07So they're up on the Diamondbacks by two games.
00:10They're now a game behind Philly and a game and a half behind Chicago.
00:14I really think that if the Padres get in
00:18and they get healthy with their pitching staff,
00:21they got Nick Pavetta back recently.
00:22If you can find a way to get Joe Musgrove to be a contributor
00:27in any way out of the pen or started a game or two here,
00:30I think that they can actually cause a disruption.
00:33Because if you look at them historically, they've given Atlanta the business.
00:38Padres have given Atlanta the business.
00:41And right now, if it ended today, that's who their opponent would be.
00:44And I guarantee you the Dodgers are like, yeah, play them.
00:50So because the Dodgers have given, the Dodgers have had fits with the Braves.
00:55The Dodgers have pretty much handled Milwaukee.
00:58They've handled San Diego.
01:00And it's up in the air against the Cubs.
01:03But if they play tomorrow, I like the Dodgers over the Cubs.
01:06So the only team I look at this and I don't like against the Dodgers is Atlanta.
01:12But Atlanta has a lot of trouble with San Diego, which I cannot explain.
01:17I think between Atlanta and Philly, those are the two teams I think that would give the Dodgers
01:21an actual run for their money.
01:23Outside of that, it really seems like the Dodgers have the Padres number.
01:27And it really feels like the Dodgers can just get past the Cubs and they have Milwaukee's number.
01:32And so as much as I think the Padres will get in, because the schedule is literally laid out in
01:40front of them.
01:40They've got three more against the Diamond.
01:42Well, two more against the Diamond.
01:43The Colorado Rockies, who they lost to tonight.
01:46They got three against the Dodgers who've already cemented their place.
01:50And then you got another three against the Diamondbacks.
01:53And that might be for the final playoff spot.
01:55So that series alone is going to be fire.
01:57So with that said, I think the Padres get in.
02:01And I think the Padres, if it's Atlanta, I think they upset Atlanta.
02:05And then after that, I have no idea what happens.
02:08Yeah, I think it's in the National League, like I said, there's going to be, I feel like there's going
02:14to be some upsets.
02:15Now, you mentioned that the Dodgers and the Padres and like them, the Dodgers having the Padres number.
02:21Do you, why do you believe that?
02:23Because as, as a Dodger fan, I don't really believe that.
02:26I don't, now the Dodgers are one of those teams that I was saying where I think they just want
02:30to get to the postseason healthy.
02:32Phillies are like that too.
02:33Yeah, like Shohei's on the injured list.
02:35Freddie's dealing with the knee thing.
02:37They've got a whole bunch of guys injured.
02:39I feel like they just want to get to October.
02:41But I wouldn't say that the Dodgers don't really care about the Padres.
02:47I think that the Padres would pose a threat to anybody in the National League.
02:51I wouldn't say that they care.
02:53Because I would, outside of Atlanta, I think the Padres are the only team with actual experience,
03:00consistent, high-pressure experience against the Dodgers, who, I wish I could say they won't fold,
03:06but they folded every single time the last couple of seasons against them.
03:11I'm talking, I think it was 19 scoreless innings worth of folding, 24 scoreless innings after you had them on
03:19the ropes.
03:20Literally, you had them on the ropes and then you didn't score for two, two and a half games.
03:25So, that's what I mean by that, because I've visually seen them appear to just have their number.
03:31And so, although I think they stand up to them the most, they also have the ability to turtle.
03:39I don't think the Brewers have the firepower.
03:41They've got the pitching.
03:42I don't think they have the bats.
03:44And I don't think they have the consistency of seeing the Dodgers enough to not be afraid of what the
03:49Dodger brand means when it comes to town.
03:52So, the Phillies do, the Braves do, and I think that's where the list ends.
03:57I really do.
03:58I don't really see anybody else being able to look at them.
04:01I include the Cubs in that, too, because as great as the Cubs have been, this season with the ups
04:06and downs,
04:07they've had really high ups and they've had really low downs.
04:10And they're probably going to have the MVP in PCA.
04:13It seems like everyone's leaning that way, that he's going to win MVP.
04:16Rightfully so.
04:17He's had an awesome year.
04:18In a week, he hasn't pitched in a long time.
04:23He's been pretty bad even when he was in the lineup.
04:25So, listen, I fully think that PCA is going to win an LMVP.
