00:00In this tutorial, I'll show you how to create a pop-in text animation in After Effects.
00:05Let's get started. First of all, create a new composition. Now, select the Type tool and type
00:12your text. To create a proper pop-in effect, we need to make sure the text is aligned in center.
00:19We also need to make sure the anchor point is positioned in the center of the text layer.
00:24To align the text to the center of the composition, go to the Align panel and align the text horizontally
00:31and vertically. Then, press Ctrl plus Alt plus Home on the keyboard. This places the anchor point in
00:39the center of the text layer. Now press S on the keyboard to reveal the scale property. Move the
00:46time indicator to the beginning of the text layer and click the stopwatch next to Scale to create a
00:51keyframe. Set the scale to 0%. Now move 4 frames forward and set the scale to 130%. Then move 4
01:01frames forward again and set the scale back to 100%. And that's enough to create a simple pop-in
01:07text animation. Now select all the keyframes and press F9 to apply easy ease. We can make the pop-in
01:15animation even smoother by adding Motion Blur. Click the Motion Blur icon for the text layer.
01:22Now preview the animation, and here it is with Motion Blur applied. We can also duplicate the
01:29text layer as many times as we need to create multiple pop-in text lines. Let me show you how
01:35to do that. For example, I want to split the first text layer at 12 frames. Move the time indicator
01:42to 12
01:42frames. Then go to Edit Split Layer. Now delete the remaining part of the layer. Next, select the
01:52pop-in text layer and press Ctrl plus D to duplicate it. Move the duplicate forward so its animation
01:59starts as soon as the first text layer ends. Now double-click the text layer and change the text
02:06to something else. For example, I'll type text. If we preview the animation, we now have two different
02:12text layers with the same pop-in animation. You can create as many pop-in text lines as you want
02:19using
02:19the same technique. And that's how you create a pop-in text animation in After Effects. If you found this
