There are two versions of what had happened to the Panama-flagged oil tanker El Gaia in the Strait of Hormuz last weekend.
The United States said the vessel was damaged with two seafarers missing after being attacked by an Iranian drone while Tehran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed that it was hit by sea mines while passing through a prohibited zone south of the strait.
