04:56And, you know, for the Lakers, with the harder cap, they can't outspend like they used to.
04:59With the Internet, players like Durant don't need to be in a big market to get exposure like it was

11:54And from what you've seen so far from the Warriors, how would you grade them?
11:57They've done a nice job here offensively to establish a rhythm and a pace to this game.
12:03And I like that they're finding ways to score.

12:07You know, this Golden State team is clearly on the rise, but they're not without weaknesses.
12:11Bad turnover differential and free throw differential.
12:15Both things that have plagued this team.
12:17That's good.

12:25And a chance here to catch up with the fourth member of our crew, Doris Burr.

12:30So, gentlemen, Stephen Curry, arguably the league's best perimeter shooter.
12:35Curry said, I love everything about shooting, but mostly that perfect form when your body is in rhythm
12:40from the time you plant your feet to the time you release the ball.
12:44Everything is smooth and calm.
12:46It moves through you like a wave.

12:57They're more of a jump shooting team than a slashing team.

13:04I think that's where they have to improve.

13:41Well, the other side of that coin is he did set a career high in assists as well, but there's
13:45no question when you talk about him solidifying his place among the elite point guards in the league, the turnover
13:51numbers have to come down, and I'm sure he'll work it.

14:14The Warriors, one of the top defensive teams in the league the last couple of seasons, and the improvement coincided
14:19with a change in defensive strategy.

14:27So they're doing what coaches call shrinking the floor, and it's been very effective to them.

16:16And what I've noticed with him is his ability to jump on teams right out of the break.
16:20I mean, he doesn't need a ton of shots to get going.
16:23He's locked in by nature.
16:24So it's the Warriors now following the three-pointer by Kobe Bryant.
16:30Livingston, that's good.
16:32And they're beginning to fall apart a little bit defensively, especially inside.
16:35Well, that's four straight buckets now at the rim.
16:39And the Lakers call time here.
16:42Well, you know, last season the Lakers found themselves in a position they are not quite accustomed to.
16:47Last in the Western Conference, a nightmare season for the story franchise.

17:26Well, guys, as we know, there were some low points for the Lakers along the way, losing to the Clippers
17:30by about 50 points,

17:35And Kobe looked visibly distraught after that loss.
17:38I mean, still got a backhanded compliment to say about it when he said,
17:42Well, now I know what it feels like to be a Clipper fan all these years.

20:07He was a bust in Minnesota, but he shot better in his fourth season.
20:10And once he was moved to kind of a small four, like the shooting power forward spot,
20:15he really found a niche for himself.

20:50Well, Jordan Hill has battled injuries, but when he's played twice, he's been painful.
20:54You know, Kevin, last season, around 20 minutes of the game he played with the Lakers, ain't you?
20:59You could argue he should have been playing more.
21:01He was very productive in that time on the floor.
21:03He's more a banger than a spread for.
21:06He's not a great perimeter shooter.
21:07And so the fit with their spread-out system might have limited his playing time.

21:39Where he's best is his ability to use his size and athleticism on the boards and really defensively as well.

23:20That gives you a lot of financial firepower there.

30:19Guys, it seems like the league has been pretty forward-thinking, willing to embrace changes over time, always trying to

30:27And I think, you know, they actually changed the competition committee over the last couple of years.
30:32It used to be every general manager.
30:34Now it's made up of three owners, three general managers, three coaches, and a player, which I think is a
30:41much more manageable group to work with.
30:43Kobe goes in.
30:47And it's going to be a three-second call.
30:49He's not doing them any favors making those kinds of mistakes.
30:53Especially now.
30:54I mean, every possession is so important for him.

31:06And with that new NBA competition committee, the league was hoping to create a more nimble leadership group to consider
31:12various initiatives.
31:13And, you know, I think the culture of the NBA has been open to innovation, new things, new ways of
31:18doing things, new thinking, all in an effort to improve the game.
31:22But, to me, that's what it's about.
