MRH Technologies Private Limited, in partnership with German multinational Mann+Hummel, has introduced the Filter Cube air filtration technology in India to tackle severe air pollution. According to company representatives, infrastructure development contributes significantly to air pollution, requiring active public-private participation rather than relying solely on government action. The Filter Cube operates via forced air circulation, capturing road dust, smoke, and harmful gases such as nitrogen dioxide and sulphur dioxide. Validated during a trial by IIT Delhi between September and November 2024, the equipment demonstrated a 60 to 70 percent reduction in pollution levels. Designed in Germany and manufactured and assembled in India, each unit delivers approximately 17,500 cubic metres of clean air per hour. The automated system features weather sensors that turn off the device during rain, an energy-saving night mode, and a centralised dashboard providing real-time performance data across city zones.

00:43Air pollution is now actually the price that we pay for development.
00:47All of our infrastructure development, whether there are road buildings, bridges, metro, buildings, offices, residencies,
00:58all of these pollutions contribute.
01:01The fact is that we are doing this campaign is really remarkable because we all need to understand
01:08the government is just not the government which has to do this.
01:11It is a public-private participation
01:13where we all must be aware of the consequences of pollution
01:18and how we can mitigate those risks.
01:20The product you are watching behind me is called a filter cube.
01:24It is used by forced air circulation technology.
01:29The air force is used by force.
01:32The air force is used by nuclear charges.
01:35The Terps with a filter is used by a filter files.
01:38The filters can be used by media to their coating, layering.
01:43It is all technology that has developed over 85 years.
01:47And they have also tested it across the globe.
01:51So this technology is not as good as to clean air air circulation.
01:54It also captures the road's dust and smoke, including some of the gases like NO2 or SO2 that are harmful.
02:06This technology has also been validated by IIT Delhi.
02:09It has also been validated in September to November, in the peak pollution period.
02:19One school, which IIT is in the premises, was put in the equipment and cleaned the whole air.
02:28There is a reduction of 60-70% from this, which is a normal citizen.
02:38In Germany, it has been made by engineers in Germany, but it has been made by manufacturing in India.
02:46The cost of production is also very reasonable.
02:50The availability is also very good and servicing is also very good.
02:54There is no experimentation going on.
02:56There is no such thing that we have come up with a new innovation.
02:59We cannot afford a new innovation.
03:01We are fighting a very, very real problem, and we have to address the real problem by the real solution.
03:07It will be, in my opinion, this is not an exercise that you could carry for scientific development.
03:14It is an exercise that you have to carry keeping the health of the citizens in mind.

04:00I am a mother of a nine-year-old daughter.
04:04And she is today living in Delhi and smoking equivalent to 80 cigarettes a day.
04:10My child is closed when the pollution increases.
04:15Most of the time, she has to study her at home.
04:18And these are the early learning years, which is shaped in her personality.
04:24That's why she has to spend more time on her at home.
04:28This is a very big problem.
04:30Today, when I stand here in front of you, I may appear to you as a young person.
04:35But my inner health today has deteriorated to a level that I have lost 12 years of my life.
04:46From this machine that you are watching me, we deliver almost 17,500 meter cube of clean air every hour.
04:55If you want to understand it in liters or if I want to give you a perspective of it,
05:00In a cricket stadium, where there is so much water,
05:04every hour, this machine will clean up the area.
05:08So, we use multiple machines like this.
05:11So what we try to do, we create a clean air zone for that area.
05:15So, the localized pollution is reached by people's limits.
05:23This device is so intelligent.
05:25When it's raining, this device switches off.
05:27Meaning, when it rains, we don't want the air purifiers to be working.
05:32So, the device switches off on itself when it rains.
05:35And also, when the rain stops, the device switches on on its own.
05:39In this device, we also have a night mode.
05:44Meaning, at night when we don't have any dense population around.
05:49We can bring down the speed of the fan to around minimal.
05:53Where we don't need much clean air coming out of the system.
05:57It does all on its own.
05:59And also, we have a centralized dashboard.
06:02Meaning, when we have 100 installations at different places.
06:06Cannot Place, A Block, B Block, C Block.
06:09We can put it in any area.
06:11Then, if we are performing in one area,
06:14we can give you a dashboard.
06:16We can give your data on every product level, zone level, and also as a city level.
