00:00A man convicted of murdering his fiancée in France has been jailed for five years after
00:06attacking his father in Warrington. Ian Griffin, 57, was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court
00:12after pleading guilty to causing grievous bodily harm and threatening to damage property.
00:18The court heard his father suffered a fractured nose, bruising and lost a tooth during the
00:24assault at the family home in Winwick. Griffin was previously sentenced in France
00:29for the 2009 murder of King Aleg. He was ruled a dangerous offender and given an extended
00:36licence period. The judge also imposed indefinite restraining orders preventing contact with his
00:42father and two neighbours.
