A court has heard evidence from the owner of a dog involved in a fatal attack on an elderly man in Warrington. He denies the charge and says the animal had not shown aggression.

00:06did not believe it was aggressive. Prosecutors say the dog was dangerously out of control.
00:12John McCall died a month after the attack in Warrington in February last year. Giving
00:16evidence at Liverpool Crown Court, Sean Garner said he had secured the dog before leaving
00:21his home. The jury has heard Mr McCall was attacked after entering a driveway. Mr Garner,
00:27now of Belle Vale Liverpool, denies being the owner of a dog which caused injury while dangerously
00:33out of control. He told the court the animal had shown no aggression and was safe around
00:39children and other people and other dogs.
