00:00Many advocates that I work with, they struggle a lot because it is painful to be awake to the reality
00:08of what's happening in the world, you know, to all beings, human and non-human beings.
00:13Once you realize that you're living in the midst of a global atrocity or multiple global atrocities, it takes quite
00:21a psychological toll for sure.
00:23And you said something. I wrote it down. You said the battle is impossible to win and impossible to ignore.
00:30So you fight it without caring about the results. And I thought that was very interesting and very wise.
00:38And what would you say? Like, how do you cope? I guess we can say.
00:43And what would you say to other advocates, other people who are who feel the fire in their belly and
00:49want to reduce suffering in the world?
00:51And, and yet they're carrying that pain in their hearts of awareness of the suffering.
00:59The suffering is not because you have fire in your belly. The suffering is because you do not have enough
01:07fire in your belly.
01:09You need to have so much fire, it consumes you from within.
01:15You see, pain too is an object to the ego.
01:20The ego, the ego could, could pander to its pain or the ego could immerse itself in the right action.
01:33So I have people around me and I, and I, and I, and when I find them, them disappointed or,
01:40or sulking or hopeless or tired,
01:44that's what I say. How do you have the, how do you have the time to feel tired?
01:53Not physically tired. When you are physically tired, that's fine. That's a thing of the machine.
01:57The body will fall and you have to give rest to the body. All that is fine. Psychologically tired.
02:04When you are psychologically tired, or when you say, but this is an impossible battle, what's the point in fighting
02:09on?
02:10Then I say, where did you find the space to hold such a thought?
