00:07We, you know, first time in 10 years to be nominated again as a show,
00:11and so it's a great time.
00:13My first time being part of a show, obviously, I wasn't around 10 years ago,
00:16but it's really wonderful for the Academy here to acknowledge what we've been doing.
00:21I think we've been doing an incredible job.
00:23We're one of the few truly live shows to be able to be nominated.
00:27I always like to say you can build a great performance in the editing room,
00:30but you can't do it when you're live on air.
00:32So it's been really cool and really fun to see the new energy that Dancing with the Stars has created.
00:39Oh, for sure.
00:40And as people who have been live quite a lot, we know what you mean.
00:43Absolutely.
00:43We know live.
00:44Live is real.
00:46I'm surprised they let you out of the studio because you've got a big premiere.
00:50Yeah, we have a double premiere the next two nights, so, you know, the entire crew is here.
00:55You know, obviously being the show that they were nominated, a lot of our producers are here.
01:00So we took the day off.
01:02We did all the rehearsals on Saturday and Sunday, and I wasn't even there for Saturday because I had to
01:06do AFE.
01:07So another show that I do.
01:08So I'm all over the place, but very excited.
01:10Busy guy.
01:10And tomorrow we'll see what happens because I am not prepared at all.
01:14Oh.
01:15Has anyone surprised you?
01:17I mean, did you have early people who were like, oh, I think this is it?
01:19And has there been anyone who surprised you and why?
01:22On the show that we're going to see, well, I don't want to give away too much.
01:25Obviously, you know, I think the frontrunners are always the frontrunners that you know from their regular career,
01:30the Jenna Dewans, the Julia Stiles, the Harry Shum Jr., right?
01:34You know what they're going to be.
01:35But there are a few there also on top of them that are absolutely incredible.
01:41We've got two new pros this season with Haley Bills and Adele Zeichmann.
01:46And so we've got them, and they're doing an incredible job with their partners.
01:50There's going to be some really, really wonderful routines that people are going to see over the course of the
01:54next two nights.
01:55Now, I have to ask, are you biased?
01:59Because now this is a story all about how Tatiana Lee.
02:04Yes, I am biased.
02:06I will say I am biased.
02:07I cannot, I will not, I will not deny that.
02:10But love my sis.
02:11Tatiana is going to be great on the show, and she brings such great energy and a pleasure to be
02:16back on a stage with her.
02:18And, you know, I mean, I've taken her under my wing.
02:21I've given her some tips, given her some things to work on, things to be thinking about.
02:24So, you know, but I will say I do it for everyone.
02:27I've just spent a little extra time.
02:29A little extra time with sis, right?
02:30I mean, she's my sister.
02:31What am I supposed to do?
02:32I've got to do it.
02:33Well, speaking of tips, you come to it from an expertise of hosting the show, but also having been on
02:39the show.
02:40Beyond the dancing, what advice do you give people about, like, what they're about to walk into, and what's important
02:45beyond the technique?
02:46Well, I think the most important thing is understanding what the show really is.
02:50And the show, yes, it's a dance competition, but really it's a transformation show, and it's a show about taking
02:55people on a journey and opening your heart and allowing them in.
02:58And so watching these incredible celebrities go from the beginning of the year all the way to the end, opening
03:05up their hearts, and really, truly allowing the audience to experience this ride with them is such an important part
03:12of the show.
03:13The best dancer does not always win.
03:16More often than not, the best dancer does not win.
03:19So it's the people who really give of themselves and become truly and totally vulnerable.
03:24That is what this show really is about.
