00:00More than two weeks since the discovery of the body of a woman in Stanley Park,
00:05inquiries remain ongoing to identify her and the person or persons responsible for her murder.
00:13A member of the public contacted Mergeside Police around 5.25 on Friday 28th of August
00:19after finding a black bin bag in bushes in the park's walled garden.
00:23Officers attended and found the body of a woman.
00:26Mergeside Police say forensic testing has established a DNA profile for her,
00:30but there is no match on the national DNA database.
00:34Investigators have also been unable to make a comparison using dental records.
00:39The investigation has included house-to-house inquiries and the recovery of CCTV.
00:45Police say occupants of 625 properties near the park have been spoken to.
00:51CCTV from 30 cameras has also been recovered.
00:54The force says it's received more than 160 reports from members of the public.
00:5973 people have been eliminated from inquiries after concerns were raised about people matching the description of the woman.
01:06Police describe her as white, believed to be around 70 years old,
01:10approximately 5 foot 2 inches tall and of slight build, with strawberry blonde hair.
01:15She was wearing a pink Nike t-shirt when she was found.
01:18The force says the investigation remains ongoing.
01:21Police are asking anyone who may have flown a drone over the park in the past couple of months
01:26to check their footage for anything significant.
