00:52The charges fall under Section 403 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of six
00:58months to five years, along with a possible fine and whipping if convicted.
01:03The prosecution sought bail at one million ringgit, calling it reasonable given the scale
01:08of the case.
01:09But the defence argued for a lower amount, saying Jamil Khir's only income is his pension
01:14as a former minister and military pension.
01:17The court set bail at 300,000 ringgit and ordered the accused to surrender his passport.
01:40The case has been fixed for mention on November 5. Jamil Khir was earlier remanded for seven
01:49days from September 2 as part of an M.A.C.C. investigation linked to the Tabung Haji Royal Commission
01:56of Inquiry, which uncovered mismanagement within the institution.
