00:05Your opening contest set for one fall has a 20-minute time limit, and it is an AEW Continental Championship,
00:13limiting our backs!
00:15It should be first, Bronx, Cincinnati, Ohio, weighing 231 pounds, is the AEW Continental Champion, Josh Moxley!
00:30Tonight, it's an eliminator match to see if Speedball Mike Bailey will get a Continental shot, but in two weeks,
00:40an all-in, the main event champion Will Ospreay will defend against
00:45John Moxley, two weeks away from tonight!
00:50Huge match-up for the World Title, and I can talk personally now from experience having wrestled this man at
00:57Wembley Stadium.
00:59I always had a respect for the toughness and the grit of John Moxley, the way he doggedly pursues any
01:07advantage, like a dog on a bone who won't let go.
01:11As I said, first experience of why Moxley is one of the most tenured champions in history.
01:17I went in with a bad ankle, I came out with a worse ankle.
01:22Doctor said, it's probably going to be about three months before I'll be back to full fitness.
01:26That's why Moxley's so dangerous.
01:29He's dangerous, but I tell you what, you stepped up to the plate, had one hell of a match, and
01:33I'm proud of you, buddy.
01:34You did fantastic. You might have come out with a bad ankle, but you came out a better man.
01:39I appreciate that. I'm not sure I stepped up as much as holding it up.
01:44Whenever it took, you were there and had the chance, Nigel McGinnis.
01:48Now, Speedball Mike Bailey has a chance as we go back to the ring.
01:53And at the point, through a much more welcome back to Canada,
01:56we've won the very 70-70 pounds, Speedball Mike Bailey!
02:04Mike Bailey has been a trio champion twice in AEW.
02:10The native of Montreal has posted some big wins in his AEW career.
02:16Over Kyle Fleischer, Kevin Knight went through a 20-minute draw with Pack at the Continental Classic
02:21back at the end of last year.
02:25But can he take down John Moxley and earn a Continental Championship shot?
02:31Eliminate a match, and Paul, what does Speedball Mike Bailey got to do to last 20 minutes with John Moxley?
02:39Well, last 20 minutes, he's got to use Speed to his advantage.
02:42I mean, Speed's in his name.
02:43If he tries to go to a ground game or even remotely think about wrestling, John Moxley, head-to-head,
02:49that's a poor decision.
02:51Use those fast feet, use those striking techniques, you know, dodge, hit, move, stay after it.
02:57But can he keep away from John Moxley for 20 minutes?
03:01That's a long time.
03:03I don't know.
03:04John Moxley is like a shark in the water, man.
03:06He's always cruising.
03:07He's always ready to bite.
03:09Well, the last time we saw John Moxley, it was on Dynamite this past Wednesday
03:14when he was confronted by Will Ospreay.
03:17And, Nigel, we saw a very angry John Moxley walk away from that interview
03:22where Moxley was confronted by Ospreay.
03:24So I just wonder what the mindset is of John Moxley right now.
03:27When you look at John Moxley's face, he's always thinking.
03:31He's always calculating.
03:32He reminds me of those memes that are on, you know, the Internet
03:36where they see all the figures and the equations going on above the guys.
03:40That's Moxley.
03:41He's always looking for you to make a mistake.
03:43We heard from Ospreay talking about how he asked Tony Khan for the match.
03:49Both of them were surprised when it was announced
03:51that Ospreay wants to face the one man who pinned him this year, John Moxley.
03:56He said that he owes the Death Riders nothing.
04:01He's not coming for revenge.
04:02He's coming with a game plan.
04:04He knows how to beat a Death Rider.
04:07Oh, that's a good point.
04:08He said he wanted the match with Moxley.
04:10They were both surprised.
04:11He'll recall Nigel when the announcement was made, they were in the ring.
04:15I don't think that Will Ospreay knew that it was coming for All Out,
04:18but he had asked for that match because Moxley, the only one attending in this calendar year.
04:24I don't know if John Moxley's the guy you want to fist bump.
04:27Exactly.
04:29Again, Moxley's waiting for you to make a mistake.
04:32Right now, I think speedball needs to get some distance
04:34and get that movement game going.
04:36High-flying.
04:38Trading wrestling holes with a guy like John Moxley is not a smart move.
04:41They tried to hammerlock that time and Moxley came out of it.
04:44They saw some of that high-flying in the Continental Classic.
04:48Moxley winning the tournament,
04:50but Mike Bailey, one of the standout stars in that tournament.
04:55Tremendous talent.
04:58Look how Moxley's setting the tone here.
05:00He's, believe it or not, he's actually slowing speedball down.
05:06That confidence, that control of the situation that Moxley has is so smooth to watch.
05:14Mental game of the Continental Champion, as I said earlier,
05:18I have first-hand experience with it now.
05:21He beats you in his head first and then physically he follows up.
05:26Straightjack at that time, but a single leg takedown and a float over.
05:30Speedball, Mike Bailey, cover one.
05:33Speedball went to a 20-minute draw with Pac in the 2025 Continental Classic like we talked about.
05:39He had much success in that tournament, would love to get a title shot.
05:43He can earn it here tonight with a 20-minute draw
05:46or, of course, hitting or getting the champion to submit.
05:50Look at that one.
05:52One count takeover.
05:53Someone with an upset, a protestar, very upset.
05:57Over that decision, certainly, certainly could beat anyone.
06:01Oh, wait a second.
06:02This is not good.
06:03The fingers are there.
06:03The joint manipulation.
06:06Oh.
06:07Najee, you know what it's like to be in there with John Motsu
06:10being able to do something like that to you.
06:12Yeah, he's a man that knows the weaknesses in every human body.
06:17If they get a shot at Speedball's hand,
06:19look how bad the tendons are stretched in the palm.
06:21That burns so bad.
06:25He's not going to be able to hold a glass of water tomorrow.
06:27Yeah, Will Ospreay's got to be watching this match very, very closely.
06:31And figuring out what he can do.
06:33He said that he had a counter for everything.
06:37John Motsu was thrown on a throwout at him.
06:41There you see our match is still to come tonight.
06:43You saw the Butcher Battle Royal.
06:45That's going to be our main event in honor of Andy Williams,
06:49who wrestled in the most AEW Battle Royals in his career.
06:55All-time leader.
07:0026 for Andy Williams during his career.
07:03There you go.
07:04Speedball's smart.
07:05Get moving.
07:06Get moving.
07:07He's got speed.
07:08And there's how smart Moxley is.
07:10Right the outside.
07:11Create some distance.
07:12I'm not playing this game, kid.
07:14Let me cut all that momentum right now.
07:16Yeah, Nitra looked like he was going to try to just come off the top and John walked away from
07:21it.
07:21Now you've got to be careful because you don't know,
07:24is Moxley baiting speedball?
07:26The speedball had the patience now to let Moxley get back in the ring.
07:30Don't do something too risky.
07:33Love how smart John Moxley is in the ring.
07:37He makes it look easy.
07:39Slowing down.
07:40Faster, man.
07:43That's a body slam.
07:45Yes, it is.
07:46And you can see the face of Mike Bailey as John Moxley just circles around Bailey and now will cover.
07:53One.
07:54Got the forearm across the teeth and the face.
07:58And now ties up the legs here with the knee.
08:02Look at the knee and the small of the back.
08:04Well, that's part of Moxley's strategy.
08:05Even that pinfall cover, I don't think Moxley actually think he was going to win,
08:10but he was making speedball waste energy.
08:13You know, guys, I think we're seeing some moves that I don't think we've seen John Moxley do.
08:17And I think it's a direct result of what Will Ospreay said to him on Wednesday night.
08:21That he knew all of John Moxley's moves.
08:24So Moxley's showing him a different wrinkle here tonight.
08:27Moxley's certainly a student of the game.
08:30And to make an argument, that's why he's fooling the death right is the way that he has.
08:37Moxley's technical competitors.
08:40Oh, wait a second.
08:41Again, to the fingers.
08:44And, you know, as we said, we know that Will Ospreay is watching.
08:48John Moxley knows that Will Ospreay is watching.
08:51John's definitely sending an indirect message.
08:53Or, baby, better get a direct message.
08:55You may think you've seen everything.
08:57I've got more tricks in the bag, kid.
09:00Oh, good move.
09:01Keep some more in the bag.
09:04There you go, Speedball.
09:06Big missile dropkick.
09:08Speedball's going to dig deep now.
09:11Yeah, John Moxley's got to be concerned not only showing Will Ospreay, but about this match.
09:15Oh, spin kick to the midsection.
09:18Axe kick to the back of the net.
09:20Well, you know, we talk about Mike Bailey having to survive the 20 minutes.
09:25We kind of put the carton before the horse.
09:28Bailey certainly capable of getting a victory here.
09:30Yeah, yeah, Moxley's had enough of that saying.
09:34Moxley shoots him on the outside.
09:36Watch out.
09:36Watch out, Speedball.
09:38Come on, buddy.
09:39Get up to your feet, buddy.
09:40Come on, Speedball.
09:41Look at Moxley.
09:42Oh, yeah.
09:44Moxley's loose.
09:44Yeah, baby.
09:45He's so dangerous like that, too.
09:49Speedball blocked it.
09:50Move.
09:50John Moxley.
09:51That's close.
09:52They hit the knee.
09:55The knee wire.
09:56The steel steps.
09:58And now, he's getting the hell kicked out of him.
10:02Is Moxley dragging screw leg whip on the floor.
10:07That's really smart on Speedball's part.
10:13Mike Bailey being willed on here in Springfield.
10:18Oh, and a nice spring to his step.
10:20Kick to the jaw.
10:22Stay focused, Mike.
10:23Stay focused.
10:24The car car up on top.
10:26Speedball is going to spring off the middle.
10:29Oh!
10:30Tornio!
10:31But will Speedball get a shot at the Continental Championship?
10:35Can he defeat John Moxley?
10:37Stay with us on collision.
10:40On Speedball!
10:41On Speedball!
10:42On Speedball!
10:43On Speedball!
10:43On Speedball!
10:44The fans are getting behind Speedball here.
10:45Why not?
10:46The young man is wrestling a hell of a match.
10:49He comes up.
10:49Well, I thought he was going to try a dragon screw there, but did not.
10:52But he's working on the ledge.
10:53You can see the hamstring, the quadriceps of John Moxley.
10:57He doesn't want to make a mistake here.
10:59He wants to get Moxley back in the ring.
11:01It would be terrible to lose this opportunity to a count-out situation.
11:07Bailey's known for his strikes.
11:09He's done.
11:10Taekwondo background.
11:12Very smart attacking that left leg of Moxley.
11:17It is the submission game of Bailey.
11:20His strength.
11:21Oh, wait a second.
11:23Things turned around.
11:24And now it's Moxley perhaps thinking big risk.
11:28This is just in sorrow.
11:30Good job, Speedball.
11:38Roll up one, two.
11:41Here you see our eight-man tank still to come.
11:43And there's a leg bar.
11:45On.
11:47Yeah, Mike Bailey knew right there he didn't have a full cover.
11:50Right away he transitioned into that leg hole.
11:53Control the tempo, keep working on that leg.
11:55That's a good experience.
11:57From Mike Bailey there, applying cruciate ligament.
12:01Pressure to Moxley.
12:02Looks like he's close to tapping.
12:05On the outside, wouldn't that be the lateral collateral ligament?
12:08I think the medial collateral ligament is the back of the leg as opposed to the side.
12:13So that's a PCL.
12:14That's a posterior cruciate.
12:15Exactly.
12:23Go.
12:28Our thanks to doctors, Nigel and Paul, for describing the ligaments in the knee and over to the midsection.
12:36I'm just trying to think all the things are torn.
12:39A great upkick in that time to the jaw of John Moxley.
12:43And now.
12:47Another big risk.
12:51Bailey taking his sweet time.
12:54But oh.
12:57It paid off.
12:59It did pay off.
13:00People, Mike Bailey is digging deep in that reservoir of heart, intensity, and guts.
13:09Ten minutes have gone by.
13:11Ten minutes remaining.
13:13Ten minutes have gone by.
13:15Ten minutes remaining.
13:16There you hear it from Arkany Aura.
13:18We are back live here on Collision from Springfield, Massachusetts.
13:24So now Mike Bailey has less than ten minutes to maybe get a title shot.
13:32John Moxley, if he can go the distance.
13:35The question is, can't he?
13:36We take a good look at John Moxley.
13:39John Moxley has to concern himself not only with All Out with Will Ospreay, but the big
13:44match he has on Wednesday.
13:46Take a look once again.
13:47Nice butterfly superplex really slamming the lower back of his challenger, Mike Bailey,
13:54into the canvas.
13:56With all this going through the mind of John Moxley about Will Ospreay, about Wednesday's
14:01big match, about All Out in two weeks.
14:04He has to concern himself right now with Speedball Mike Bailey.
14:09Speedball's done a great job of attacking Moxley's left leg, weakening his base.
14:15And here comes Moxley, where he starts getting crazy now.
14:18This is where he gets that next level like a mad dog.
14:22There you see that trio smash that we're talking about.
14:25Moxley gave Kidd back on one team.
14:29Boom.
14:30That's to Billy's little shot in that leg.
14:32Speedball's done a great job of attacking it.
14:35John Moxley swinging wildly just to keep...
14:37He's just trying to keep Speedball off of him.
14:40Moxley like a wounded animal now.
14:42That makes him even more dangerous.
14:46Oh, great keel kick.
14:49But it was Bailey that fell to the canvas first.
14:52You could see the chest rising and falling.
14:55What does that tell you?
14:57That tells you right now he's digging deep at the bottom of the barrel.
14:59He's pulling the dust up off the mat, trying to get every breath.
15:04Which also gives Moxley time to recover, which is so unfortunate and dangerous.
15:09Fans want to remind you, AEW is coming to Norfolk at the Charley Arena this coming Wednesday, September 16th.
15:16And then we're heading to Charleston Coliseum.
15:18And next Saturday, the 19th live.
15:21We're going to go to Indianapolis.
15:23This is the final stop of All Out of Dynamite Eclision on Wednesday, September 23rd.
15:29The All Out breakout block party is Saturday, September 26th.
15:34The Highway Brew Gardens in Chicago.
15:36Entry 3, by the way.
15:37And then All Out, limited tickets remain in two weeks, Saturday, September 26th.
15:44Speed Bailey did a great job of trying to block that arm bar.
15:48Moxley trying to break it with knee strikes.
15:51Turn to his venice.
15:51Now he's putting on that rear chin lock.
15:54Bailey's fighting to keep it from getting locked in.
15:57That's his guy.
15:58I think Moxley may be bleeding from the mouth a little bit.
16:02Oh, he moved out of the way that time.
16:04But Speedball dragging screw on Jon Moxley.
16:08So smart.
16:09Sticking with that leg.
16:11It's working.
16:12Keep it going, Speedball.
16:14Oh.
16:15Well, let's not forget working on the leg, especially the ankle.
16:19Here's a cover.
16:20One, two.
16:22Helps Kyle O'Reilly in his matches against Jon Moxley.
16:26You know, Tony, I love this Continental Wrestling.
16:29To me, there's no outside interference.
16:31There's no bogus extra stuff.
16:33It's blood and guts and meat right in the middle of the ring between the rogues.
16:37Who can make it last?
16:39Two men leaving it all in the center and right in the center.
16:43Again, the ring.
16:44I do check.
16:44Quick transition.
16:46Looking for the arm bar.
16:47This great wrestling that you're talking about, Paul, in the center of the ring.
16:50Center of the ring right now.
16:52Speedball's on defense trying to keep that arm from getting stressed out.
16:57Moxley's in the advantage right now.
16:59He's getting a better breath.
17:00Wearing Speedball down.
17:03This is like watching a giant Anaconda snake wrap up its praise.
17:08Slowly wear it down.
17:10That's a great analogy.
17:12The arm funny comes loose, but there's a cover.
17:14Got a two count that time.
17:17Moxley back up.
17:18A front kick that time.
17:20And Moxley trying to get out of this.
17:23Maybe trying to backslide it a little bit.
17:25Moxley goes to the ropes.
17:28Oh, wow.
17:29Speedball.
17:29That was a sledgehammer to the forehead.
17:31And look as if Speedball's going to try and drag him through through the ropes.
17:34But Moxley.
17:36Oh, here he goes again.
17:38He's got it now.
17:45Moxley is amazing so quick with his legs and his feet.
17:48Well, Ospreay's got to be loving this if he had a game plan before.
17:52He's got one clear as day now.
17:55Absolutely, absolutely, Nigel.
17:57Ospreay knows that going into this, Moxley might have some problems with that left leg.
18:02What a performance this is from Speedball.
18:05Mike Bailey once again stepping up to that grass ring.
18:09Five minutes for me.
18:11Okay.
18:11Five minutes.
18:12Five minutes.
18:13Come on, Speedball.
18:14He can either win it or he can put in the deep freeze and...
18:17Oh, he missed!
18:19Right.
18:19Adjustment notes and land on his feet.
18:21I saw Moxley moving.
18:24Backslide coming up.
18:26One, two, go!
18:28Oh, my God!
18:31Many of the fans thought it was a three count, but Paul Turner was right on top of it.
18:38There we go.
18:39This is where Moxley gets a little nutso.
18:43More you hit...
18:44Oh!
18:46Connor!
18:47Oh!
18:48Look how far though Moxley is!
18:58Well, potentially looking for the paradigm shift, but the knee gives weight.
19:03Speedball, Mike Bailey, dropped his hips at the last second.
19:06Doubled his weight.
19:08That was an instant move on Speedball's part.
19:11Damage to the leg, paying dividends, light in the match.
19:15Oh!
19:17There's that wild berserker attitude that Moxley has.
19:21He just takes all the pain, throws it away.
19:23Goes crazy.
19:25And Speedball stepped out of the way!
19:28Oh, a kick in the back of the head!
19:30One, two!
19:32Moxley barely got out of it!
19:34We've got to be very close to the end of this match!
19:37Second attempt.
19:38Can Speedball hang on?
19:41Or can he win it?
19:44Shooting star from the top!
19:46One, two, and Moxley got out of it!
19:49And again into the knee ball.
19:51Great strategy!
19:54Right to the ankle, right to the leg again!
19:56This is all that experience of Speedball, Mike Bailey coming through.
20:00He didn't get frustrated over the kickout.
20:03He went way to the next opportunity, going out to that leg bar.
20:06Moxley trying to get there open.
20:08Yeah.
20:08I was hoping he wasn't going to be able to reach a little bit of poetic license after I was
20:14unable to reach it.
20:16We are under three minutes remaining in this match.
20:20Three minutes!
20:22Moxley on the back of the Speedball.
20:24He's got Speedball.
20:25No, Speedball got through.
20:33Stopped the challenger.
20:35Oh, wait a second.
20:37Speedball runs him up!
20:38One, two, three!
20:40Not yet!
20:41Not yet!
20:42What an opening bout!
20:43Man, is Speedball putting up a hell of a fight.
20:46Rousing through again!
20:47One, two!
20:49I don't know if Jon Moxley got out of that, but he did.
20:53That's that great conditioning of Jon Moxley.
20:55Oh!
20:57Turn out the lights!
20:59Good gracious!
21:00Stopped the head!
21:02Swims over to get him!
21:04Now on his feet!
21:05Grabs him!
21:08Oh, the dick rider!
21:12Good night, Mike Bailey!
21:14One, two, three!
21:17Moxley wins it!
21:19Your winner, the AEW Continental Champion!
21:26John Moxley!
21:29A win for the Continental Champion, but the question is, will he be the world champion in the all-out
21:36as Marina Shapira is into the ring?
21:38There you see the match!
21:41Two weeks away!
21:42Ospreay, Ospreay and Jon Moxley!
21:47Will he be the champion once again?
21:50Could be going for number five.
21:53John Moxley has proved again that in the clutch, there is no one better!
