00:03:34the amount of opportunities that they're probably getting
00:03:38if we really want to actually nail this test match down.
00:03:41I would say, you know, the way we're talking about it,
00:03:43you probably think we're down 15, 20 points
00:03:45but we're going into the half 14, 17
00:03:47and they'll be saying,

00:03:50but if we clean up our discipline,
00:03:52we stop the bleeding through the air,

00:58:21I suppose being up on the scoreboard allows you to do that.
00:58:24But I will echo a lot of what Justin Marshall said as well.

00:58:31And I think for us as a nation and All-Blacks supporters,
00:58:34we should be really proud of that.
00:58:36Knowing that, I think, as you know too, Gus, as players,

00:59:37I love what we've done over the last, especially the last four tests.
00:59:40The players that have come through and blooded in and stood up when their time was called.
00:59:45So there's a lot to take.
00:59:46But it is also hard to take, you know, going down 3-1, three losses.
00:59:51Our expectation of an all-black team is always we want to win every single test match.
00:59:54And we'll probably look back and be like, you know, was this a success?
00:59:58But I do feel like there are some great movements and some positive things to reflect on.

01:00:04And the reality is that Dave Rennie is very short in his career as head coach of the All Blacks.

01:02:26Oh, look, we talk a lot about moments throughout the week when we review our test matches and,
01:02:32you know, South Africa have just stacked a few more moments against us over the last
01:02:35couple of games and we had a couple of opportunities that we just let them off the hook on.
01:02:41But full credit to them, you know, they're a great side.
01:02:45They've proven why they're world champions and I look forward to playing them again whenever
01:02:50that is in the future.
01:02:51What has impressed you about your team's performance tonight?
01:02:55Look, we don't know, we don't die wondering, you know,
01:02:57there's a lot of effort that goes into each week and each test and I'm so proud of the whole,
01:03:02the whole group, not just the players, the management.
01:03:04You know, it's been an awesome tour.
01:03:05We've learned so much and I know this is going to set us up for what is ahead in the
01:03:08future.
01:03:09So what does this tour mean to you and to this team?
01:03:15That's a good stepping stone.
01:03:16You know, we're an interesting place at the moment as a rugby nation.

01:04:13We are tracking in the right direction despite those results not going our way
01:04:16and the Springboks taking the series 3-1. There is so much to learn.
01:04:20And when you are playing the team that is the benchmark, that is the best possible way to learn, Gus.
01:04:25Yeah, 100 percent.

01:04:32Like the hunger of these All Blacks and yeah, like the care and love and want to represent this country
01:04:38and play at the highest level is awesome. But it also goes to show how fine margins at test level
01:04:43are so close. You know, you think about the early tackle and then that goes straight into
01:04:48Kirtley-Arense scores a try. You think you give up a penalty, they go to the corner, they maul.
01:04:52And next thing you know, you're down two tries. So, great challenge for them.
01:04:57But yeah, I mean, they're excited. They want more.
01:05:01They certainly do. They want more, but maybe they need just a little bit of a break from
01:05:05the wanting more. Because you look at Cody Taylor's head there, there was a lot of blood
01:05:08that we saw early on. He might need a little bit of a rest after that, as will all of
01:05:12the boys.
01:05:12And they get ready if we look ahead. It's the Bledisloe Cup coming up next to Eden Park
01:05:16taking on the Aussies, of course. So they really do need a bit of a break now for that,
01:05:20because that is an incredibly physical battle, despite whatever way you end up on the result
01:05:24of it. But it was physical nonetheless.
01:05:26Yeah, extremely physical, taxing mentally and physically. And I guess that's the nature
01:05:31of it. But I do love the comments there I heard from Cody Taylor in regards to,
01:05:35they review things extremely hard. And they'll need to, because as I said, you do learn a lot
01:05:41more from the losses, but you need to make sure you actually apply them in regards to your preparation.
01:05:46One thing I will say, which is just the beauty about sport, was there was an image after the game
01:05:51there of both the All Blacks and South Africa, arm in arm, down there, just I think a real reflection
01:05:58of the fact that they've been going toe to toe, but just what rugby creates and sport does too,
01:06:03which was an awesome moment to see.

01:14:36so it was very cool to have it again even though it didn't go our way.
