00:00We're going live to Suriname as part of the activities being held of the official
00:06visit of the acting president, Delsus Rodriguez, to the country, which is
00:10speeding with fishermen, 35 crewmen, a group of fishermen that are going around
00:18the northern coast of Suriname. We must recall this comes in the framework of
00:26one of the new signed agreements that was reached between both nations, between
00:34Suriname and Venezuela, to expand in terms of fishery, to expand licenses for
00:40Venezuelan fishermen to be able to carry out fishing activity along that Atlantic
00:45coast of Suriname, which will in turn provide more products, more employment,
00:50more opportunities for fishermen and fisherwomen in Venezuela, but also more
00:54products for Suriname, for their local market, and also for their export.
01:01Let's listen to what's happening in this location in Suriname.
01:09This new beginning, this new stage. Thanks to you.
01:20Thank you to all. In the name of all fishermen here in Suriname, truly, we're going to be eternally grateful
01:31for taking us into account in these new agreements.
01:37And we know that better things are coming. We expect better things coming from you.
01:44We're going to continue working with the same love as always.
01:52Thank you. Well, I'm also very pleased with this historic agreement, because this historic agreement will be for the benefit
02:02of the people of Suriname, the people of the fishermen or fisherwomen in Venezuela.
02:11And I hope that you have a great fishing season that works for export, for export becomes a great news,
02:19because it activates our economy.
02:21It makes it part of the economic growth. We're saying this in the state that the growth that we've had
02:28this year in comparison to last year is over 80%.
02:32And you, the fishermen, the thousands of fishermen and fishermen that take part in this activity are part of this.
02:42And this new agreement with Suriname is going to give a new push for the national fishing.
02:48And of course, this will translate in benefits for fishermen in Venezuela and also in Suriname.
02:55And that we work together for export, for production, and our shared efforts to work.
03:02I want to give you a greetings ad hoc. And as our minister was saying, in the year 40, 50,
03:0860, and now in 2026, a new stage.
03:10You can count with the government for all the support that you may require and that this agreement is real,
03:17that produces tangible results,
03:19that produces benefits for different sectors, for the fishing sector in the east of our country,
03:27well, has greater vision for what the future may be, and that we can continue to deepen our binational cooperation.
03:34So, I congratulate all of you. I embrace you. And let's get to work. Let's go to work.
03:42We will listen to statements of the acting president of the Bernard Republic of Venezuela, Tessia Rodriguez,
03:48as part of her visit to Suriname. And she was sharing this moment with Venezuelan fishermen
03:56that are part here in Suriname, as part of the alliance in terms of fishing, in terms of this sector
04:03with Suriname,
04:04this cooperation between Suriname and Venezuela. We must recall that also that fishing cooperation,
04:09has been expanded and has been deepened for an updated, improved version following one of the agreements that were signed.
04:18We must recall that today, earlier in the day, many agreements were signed in different sectors,
04:23and one of them was actually on the fishing activity to expand licenses, to grant more licenses,
04:29to fishermen coming from Venezuela to be able to carry out their activity in the northern coast,
04:35around that Atlantic strip, as part of the national waters of Suriname.
