00:05The City Corporation has approved a new legal process allowing the historic honour to be
00:09removed.
00:10It follows a review which found there was no effective lawful way to revoke it.
00:15The process will now be used to consider removing Mountbatten-Windsor's freedom which
00:19he inherited in 2012 through his father Prince Philip.
00:25He was asked to give it up but he did not respond.
00:27The Corporation says that he will have opportunities to make representations before any final decision
00:34is made.
00:36Members are expected to consider the case in December.
00:39Mountbatten-Windsor has always denied any wrongdoing.
