01:05India is also known as the pharmacy of the world.
01:09We see BRICS as an important market for these and other products
01:15that India seeks to take to the world as a trusted partner.
01:22We believe trade amongst partners should be deep, resilient,
01:30with diversified supply chains and ensuring that at no point of time
01:36trade becomes an impediment to growth and the well-being of the people of each member state.
01:47We should open our markets for each other's products,
01:51including for raw materials and critical minerals.
01:55Our supply chains will be resilient when they run both ways.
02:02With non-tariff measures imposing higher export costs,
02:07in fact, much more than the tariffs themselves,
02:10for 88% of the countries, we need to make market access easier, smoother.
02:19I urge BRICS member states and partner countries to open their markets
02:27while working together to simplify regulatory procedures
02:31and facilitate faster clearance of consignments.
02:37Let us also encourage our agri-tech startups to develop solutions together
02:45for farmers across the BRICS nations in the interest of food security for our people.
02:53Let us open our services markets to each other in a real sense.
02:58Let professionals move easily across borders and make it easier
03:05to recognize each other's professional qualifications.
03:11Friends, it gives me immense pride to inform you
03:17that more than 45% of the 250,000 recognized startups in India
03:25have at least one woman partner or director.
03:30Two-thirds of the small loans that have been given in the last decade
03:36have been given to women entrepreneurs,
03:40helping them stand on their own feet,
03:43becoming independent and self-reliant.
03:46The BRICS Women's Business Alliance met in New Delhi earlier this week.
03:53I have urged them that women-led enterprises should participate
03:58in every BRICS exhibition, trade fair and other opportunities
04:05which we can all encourage and support.
04:10India has taken significant initiatives
04:13in laying out a digital public infrastructure.
04:18In fact, our unified payment interface
04:20today has over 250 billion transactions a year,
04:28representing more than half of the transaction
04:30by volume across the world.
04:35Today, it is also accepted in 11 countries,
04:38and I would urge the BRIC member countries and partner countries
04:42to link our payment systems,
04:46trade in each other's local currencies,
04:50make digital trade global
04:52and build together for the future emerging technologies.
04:57We bring strong capabilities across many sectors,
05:03including agriculture, pharmaceuticals,
05:07engineering, electronics, automobiles and auto components,
05:13services, and should also link our startup ecosystems.
05:18These trends offer significant scope,
05:23as was earlier mentioned,
05:24for joint innovation, technology partnerships
05:28and resilient global value chains.
05:32As we move towards Viksit Bharat 2047,
05:37the collective goal that 1.4 billion Indians
05:41have given unto ourselves
05:43to make India a developed nation
05:46when we celebrate 100 years of independence,
05:49we see immense potential
05:52to deepen cooperation with BRICS members
05:56and partner countries.
05:58We look forward to very engaging discussions
06:01during the thematic sessions later today
06:04and hope that these deliberations
06:07will lead to constructive and actionable recommendations
06:12to further strengthen intra-BRICS trade
06:16and economic cooperation.
