00:01Vice President Sara Duterte's perjury complaint against self-confessed bagman
00:05Ramil Madriaga is dismissed. It's confirmed Senators Alan Peter and Pia Quietano have left
00:11the country. The prosecution names the first witnesses in its unexplained wealth case against
00:16Vice President Sara Duterte. U.S. President Donald Trump says he would pay every American
00:21adult $5,000 if Republicans win Congress in the midterm elections. And James Reed releases his
00:27new album, Honey, I'm Home.
00:36The Gig City prosecutors dismissed Vice President Sara Duterte's perjury complaint against self-confessed
00:41bagman Ramil Madriaga. The prosecutors dismissed the complaint for not meeting the required
00:46threshold of prima facie evidence with reasonable certainty of conviction. Madriaga had previously
00:51made allegations against the Vice President in relation to misuse of confidential funds and
00:55Philippine offshore gaming operators. In March, Duterte filed a complaint against Madriaga with the
01:00Taguig City prosecutor's office. Duterte filed a second perjury complaint in August connected to
01:06Madriaga's second affidavit. Madriaga made new allegations that the OVP's 125 million peso
01:12confidential funds were spent not in 11 days but just in 24 hours. Alleged misuse of confidential
01:19funds is one of the four articles of impeachment against Duterte in her ongoing Senate impeachment
01:23trial. The Bureau of Immigration confirms Senators Alan Peter Cayetano and Pia Cayetano have left the
01:30Philippines with no legal restrictions preventing their departure. The BI's confirmation came amid
01:36photos posted on social media showing the Cayetano siblings arriving in Singapore on Wednesday evening,
01:41September 9. The Cayetano's departure comes as the National Bureau of Investigation or NBI prepares to
01:47recommend the filing of cases to the Department of Justice. The cases stem from alleged irregularities
01:52in the Philippines' hosting of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. Alan Cayetano served as chairperson of
01:58the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee. It is a non-profit organization tasked
02:03with organizing and managing the country's hosting of the 2019 Sea Games. He was also House Speaker at the
02:10time. Senate President Sherwin Gachalian did not confirm the Cayetano's trip but said Senators
02:15traveling abroad for personal reasons are not required to seek travel authority.
02:21The prosecution names the first three witnesses in its unexplained 12th case against Vice President
02:26Sara Duterte. These include a former anti-graft court justice and representatives from the Office of
02:32the Ombudsman and Securities and Exchange Commission. Prosecutor Terry Ridon says the team requested the
02:37issuance of subpoenas to the following individuals from the impeachment court. Retired Sandigan ba ang
02:42presiding Justice Amparo Cabotaje Tang, Office of the Ombudsman Records Division Officer-in-Charge
02:46Karin Batu, and SEC Company Registration and Monitoring Department Director Gerardo Del Rosario.
02:52Ridon says Cabotaje Tang will be asked to discuss the principles of governing public accountability and
02:56integrity. Batu will testify on specific details about Duterte's statement of assets, liabilities,
03:02and net worth. And Del Rosario will authenticate the company records associated with the Vice President.
03:09U.S. President Donald Trump claims he would pay every American adult a $5,000 Trump dividend if
03:15Republicans retain control of Congress in November's midterm election. Trump proposes this at his
03:20Republican Party's first ever midterm convention, but it was not immediately clear how the payments
03:25would work or whether they would be legal. With approximately 270 million U.S. adults, it would cost
03:31around $1.35 trillion. But it was not clear whether his campaign-style speech would appeal to the
03:38critical swing voters. Opinion polls show the swing voters drifted away from Trump's party amid growing
03:44dissatisfaction with the cost of living and the war on Iran. Meantime, top White House advisors,
03:49including Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, privately warned Trump about a
03:54prolonged war. A report by the Wall Street Journal says the advisors told Trump Tehran could continue
03:59to resist U.S. pressure, potentially prolonging the conflict beyond Inauguration Day in January 2029.
04:08James Reid explores romance, vulnerability, and intimacy in his new album Honey, I'm Home,
04:14released Thursday, September 10. After years of chasing the next achievement, sound, or version
04:27of himself, Reid says the 10-track album represents his arrival to somewhere quieter. He says, quote,
04:34Honey, I'm Home is obviously something you say when you walk through the door, but for me,
04:38the idea of home became much bigger than a physical place. He adds, it's that feeling of being completely
04:44present and comfortable with where you are, who you are, and who you're with. The album mixes
04:49Reid's love of R&B and soul with funk, soft rock, yat rock, and classic pop influences. It also relies
04:56on simple and honest songwriting instead of elaborate wordplay. One of the record's most personal songs
05:02is Indiana, which captures Reid's perspective as a future father. Honey, I'm Home is Reid's
05:14most collaborative project to date, featuring Arthur Neri, Luke April, and Isa, each lending a distinct
05:20voice to different tracks. And that's today's wrap. I'm Julian Serenio. Thank you for watching.
