How’s this for a line-up?!
We’ve got our hands on four high-performance vehicles, and they’re going head-to-head to see which is fastest!
Starting off, we’ve got the all-new Lamborghini Huracan going up against the Denza Z9 GT - so let’s check out the stats.
The Lamborghini Temerario rolls up with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors. These combine to produce 920hp and 730Nm. It weighs in at 1,790kg, and it costs around £310,000
Then we come to the Denza Z9 GT. It’s a family-sized EV with three electric motors that combine to create 1,156hp and 1,210Nm of torque. It’s super heavy, mind, coming in at 2,875kg, but it’s also much cheaper than the Lambo, costing £105,000.
The winner of this battle will go up against the Denza Z. Like the Z9 GT it also has four seats and three electric motors. But in this instance, the power output is an incredible 1,604hp and 1,240Nm! It tips the scales at 2,250kg, and it costs from £172,900.
Finally, the winner of the last showdown will go up against the Suzuki Hayabusa. Normally it has a 1300cc 4-cylinder engine, but in this instance, the engine has been uprated to 1400cc, and it’s had a supercharger added to it as well! As a result, the output is 450hp and 320Nm, and the weight of the bike & rider comes in at around 340kg!
So will the 1600hp Denza come out on top? There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE!

00:00What will win in a drag race between this Chinese family car with over 900 horsepower
00:04and this Italian supercar also with over 900 horsepower?
00:08Whatever wins that will then race this Chinese supercar with over 1,600 horsepower.
00:13Whatever wins that race is going to race against this superbike with over 1,300 horsepower per tonne.
00:20I'm Matt Watson and you're watching CarWow.
00:25The first race we're going to have is between the Lamborghini Temerario, a supercar,
00:29and this is Denza Z9 GT, which is a high-performance luxury fastback electric car.
00:35Perfect for your family if they like to go quickly.
00:37It's got three electric motors.
00:39They put out 1,156 horsepower and 1,210 newton metres of torque.
00:45This thing should be rapid, but it is heavy.
00:47Weighs in 2.9 tonnes.
00:49Well, they built it out of lead.
00:51What's going on?
00:52It does have a big battery.
00:53That's the cause of the weight.
00:54It's 120 kilowatt hours.
00:56The Lamborghini Temerario has a 4-litre twin-turbo V8, which is mated to an electric motor,
01:01and that drives the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox with launch control.
01:04We've also then got two other motors on the front axle, so you get four-wheel drive.
01:09Combined power output, 920 horsepower.
01:13Torque?
01:14Well, from the engine alone, 730, but with all the motors, you're probably looking around 1,000 newton metres of
01:19torque.
01:19Now, that car is a lot lighter than this, 1.8 tonnes.
01:22So, in theory, it's got a better power-to-weight ratio, it should win.
01:25But we all know what electric cars are like.
01:27Pause the video now to compare the stats of these cars side-by-side.
01:31Is it Joe or Joel?
01:32Joe.
01:33Joel, as in Billy Joel.
01:35No, as in Joe.
01:37Okay, Joe as in Joe.
01:39So, you ready, Joe?
01:40I am ready, Matt.
01:41I'm a bit nervous.
01:42I've got the weight of the petrol head world on my shoulders.
01:44It's not a true petrol head car, though, because it does have hybridisation.
01:47You're halfway to this.
01:48So, Joe, this car's going to sell for around £100,000.
01:51How much was your Lamborghini?
01:53So, my Lamborghini is very sensibly specced, and it's still come to £310,000.
01:58Well, let's see if it's £310,000 fast, as we put it against this upstart from China.
02:03Let's do it.
02:05Three, two, one.
02:13Oh, we had a really good start.
02:15Wait.
02:27I can't see you.
02:31Well, this is fast.
02:35Is this this car or that car?
02:36What's making the noise?
02:43Joe, your launch was impeccable.
02:45Just one more go, okay?
02:46I'll give you a second chance, Matt, but petrol heads, you can thank me.
02:49It's not fully petrol, is it?
02:51It's slightly electrified.
02:52If it was just petrol, it wouldn't have won, then.
02:54I'd rather be slightly petrified...
02:58Petrified than electric.
03:00Three, two, one.
03:04Got him.
03:06Come on, Denzer!
03:10Come on, you can do it!
03:11No!
03:14Bye!
03:24I'm not sure I'm hearing this, not that.
03:26It's mad that I'm hearing this, not that.
03:38I had you off the line, but you soon came past and you'd just fly by.
03:41There's no point in me racing it again.
03:43I'm not going to win.
03:44This is quick, but just not quite quick enough on that occasion.
03:47But I might be able to beat you in the next race.
03:50Right, and Joe, what we're going to do now is a rolling race.
03:52We're going to do it from about 40 miles an hour over the half mile.
03:56You're going to be in whatever gear you want to be in at 50 miles an hour.
04:00I don't care.
04:00Fine.
04:01Call on me.
04:01Right, and let's go get level.
04:03Three, two, one, go.
04:15Go ahead.
04:16Come on, Denzer!
04:17You can do it!
04:23That's the quarter mile.
04:24It's coming back now.
04:28Sorry, Matt.
04:29Bye, Matt.
04:30Oh, damn him.
04:36I held him off for a while.
04:41Your car didn't pick up as quick as I thought it would, but now we're going to do a brake
04:45test, my friend.
04:46You should win this, because this weighs almost three tonnes.
04:49Yeah, I think this is significantly lighter, so this should be a breeze.
04:52We'll see.
05:02Oh, Christ.
05:03Bye, Matt.
05:04I thought I'd get beaten by worse than that, to tell you the truth.
05:06You can see how well the brakes are, and they're steaming.
05:08Yeah, you're going to be laughing on the other side of your face in a minute,
05:10because I'm going to switch out into a different Denzer.
05:12I'm worried about it.
05:13Just one fly, I think we already broke a little bit earlier than the cones.
05:16What?
05:17You chit-
05:18Wait, mate.
05:19Joe, we're doing that again?
05:21You broke prematurely.
05:23I didn't think I did.
05:24Bad eyes.
05:25I don't know.
05:34Oh, no, just the last bit of ABS did me.
05:37Same result.
05:38Oh, my God.
05:39It's not that big a difference.
05:41We were neck and neck until the last minute, but my ABS was just chirping away and didn't bite hard
05:45enough like your car.
05:46Perfect Italian motoring.
05:48I'm going to level up now.
05:49Okay, Joe, so I have bought the Denzer Z Racing.
05:53Just like the other car, I have three electric motors, two on the rear axle, one on the front, so
05:57four-wheel drive.
05:58However, there is a step up in performance.
06:00I've got 1,604 horsepower and 1,240 newton metres of torque.
06:05Also, it's lighter than the other car.
06:07It's only a two-seater like your car, so it's a bit fairer, so I'm going to destroy you now.
06:10Four seats.
06:12So, Matt, it's a four-seater and it weighs 2.3 tonnes.
06:15It looks like a two-seater, but it is actually a four-seater.
06:19Oh, my God.
06:20Well, if you get beaten now, that's doubly humiliating then, Joe, isn't it?
06:24Let's do it.
06:25Three, two, one.
06:33Well, I was blinding.
06:40He can't put his power down.
06:46He's going to beat me.
07:00Wow.
07:01Look at your smug face.
07:03You beat me.
07:03I did.
07:04All those figures mean nothing.
07:06They seem to mean nothing, especially when your tyres are cold.
07:09But it ain't over yet, mate.
07:10We're going to come back to that.
07:12We're going to do a rolling race first.
07:13Okay, we'll give you a second chance.
07:14We're going to do it from 50 miles an hour.
07:17You choose whatever gear you want.
07:18Sport your settings.
07:19Three, two, one, go.
07:20Race to the half mile, okay?
07:21I think I'm going to go with first in this because the Temerario revs to 10,000.
07:24So, I think I'll be good to go there.
07:26All right, let's do that.
07:27Three, two, one, go.
07:30Ta-ra.
07:36No way.
07:42Blimey.
07:47This is insanely fast.
07:50He's gone.
07:54Jesus Christ.
08:00That's frightening.
08:02After that launch, I wasn't expecting that.
08:04But you know how electric cars, they like accelerate and they're fast immediately and then they die off.
08:09This was the opposite.
08:11It was like, yeah, it's pretty quick.
08:12And then it just kept building and building and building and building.
08:14And it was very, very frightening.
08:15You lost though, quite badly.
08:17Yeah, that thing just kept pulling away.
08:19It was relentless.
08:20I've never seen anything like it from an electric car before.
08:22Let's do a brake test.
08:30Come on, Denzer.
08:31Ah, bite!
08:35Bite!
08:35Oh!
08:36I just had a little skip at the end and it did me.
08:39Very close.
08:40I just had a little skip at the end and...
08:41Oh, no.
08:42Well, you definitely skipped and I think that's what took you just slightly, ever so slightly away from me.
08:46That's the trouble.
08:47A bit of bad luck with the surface.
08:48Just the wrong bit of timing and that's it.
08:50It's close though.
08:51It's close.
08:51We're going to do another rolling race now, but from 10 miles to now, we're going to have it started
08:55like a drag race.
08:56See what happens that time, okay?
08:57I'm nervous.
08:58I'm actually frightened of doing it because this thing's just so fast.
09:03Three, two, one.
09:07Boost mode.
09:08Off we go.
09:14What speed are we going to hit up here?
09:15Bloody hell.
09:19The only shift in is gone.
09:25You can't catch that.
09:36I think this might be too fast for me.
09:38I don't know if I can take this.
09:43Christ alive, this is the half mile.
09:50185 mile an hour there.
09:55Let's drag race, Joe.
09:56Let's go do that again, shall we?
10:00I'm lost for words.
10:01All right then, Joe.
10:02Are you ready?
10:03I think the tyres are warm now, but it is 1-0 to you.
10:05I'm ready.
10:06I'm not so confident now.
10:08Three, two, one.
10:12Here we go.
10:22Bye bye Lamborghini.
10:24Ah, he's pulling away.
10:36It's not even close.
10:39It just gets faster and faster.
10:47You got beat that time, didn't you?
10:49By a country mile.
10:51I think the tyres are warm now.
10:52There's nothing I can do.
10:53I've got nothing left.
10:54I've got nothing left.
10:56Well, you've got to endure it one more go because fair's fair.
10:59Best two out of three.
11:01It's one each.
11:02This is the decider.
11:04Three, two, one.
11:08That hooked really well.
11:15Just going out.
11:29It's just the way.
11:31It just keeps on increasing the gap.
11:38There's not much you can do, is there, really?
11:40This is just way too quick.
11:41That thing just pulls off.
11:43It just keeps on going.
11:44There's no dead spot.
11:45I just, nothing.
11:46The dead spot is actually the beginning when it's trying to put its power down.
11:50Because once it's dug in, it just keeps on building and building.
11:54Wild ride this thing.
11:55A wild ride.
11:56But things are about to get even more wild.
11:59Because to beat this, we need to go crazy.
12:01Right, now we have Richard from TTS Performance on his crazy Suzuki Hayabusa supercharge.
12:08Normally, a Hayabusa has a 1.3 litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine.
12:12That one has had its capacity increased to 1.4 litres and it's had a massive supercharger
12:17whacked onto it as well.
12:18So it now produces 450 horsepower and 320 newton metres of torque.
12:22Bike normally weighs 260.
12:24With Richard on it, it's about 340 kilograms.
12:28Well, he's certainly got me on power to weight, hasn't he?
12:29But, is he going to beat me?
12:31Mind you, I'd have to say that half of Richard's weight must be his massive steel balls.
12:35Because there's no way you'd get me on that thing.
12:43Come on.
12:44Oh, got good traction there.
12:58Is he coming?
12:59Where is he?
12:59No.
13:00No, I'm going to have him.
13:06Literally no chance.
13:12She's holding back.
13:14I don't think there's a run in it.
13:15It's either the clutch is letting go or it's running too lean.
13:19Not at maximum revs but on its way up.
13:21I'll do a bit of a run down there just to confirm my thoughts.
13:41All right, let's see what you've got, Ricardo.
13:43He spent ages messing with his bike.
13:45Will it help him?
13:45I don't know.
13:51Oh, he jumped the star a bit, the cheeky bugger.
14:02Come on, car.
14:03Come on.
14:04Bye-bye.
14:15Oh, his bike faltered.
14:17That was in, that was.
14:24He had a bit of a cheeky start maybe.
14:26But then I came past.
14:27But I think he's looking like a man that's unhappy.
14:29Let's find out.
14:30You all right?
14:31Yeah.
14:32When it was alongside, it felt like it was really going strong.
14:34Changed into gear and it leaned out again and just lost power.
14:38We're done, I think, mate.
14:39It's too far away for me to keep risking it.
14:43I'll blow the motor or something.
14:44Do you think we're running out of fuel then?
14:46No, I think it's to do with mapping still.
14:48How much time have we got?
14:49Do you want to go again?
14:51It's 10.7 now.
14:52We've got 10 minutes.
14:53I've just got this thought.
14:55Just got this thought.
14:56Really?
14:57Yeah.
14:57Is this the thought that ends up when your bike exploding?
15:00No.
15:01Let's do it.
15:01I wonder what he's doing.
15:02Is he just surfing the internet?
15:03All he was doing last time was just doom scrolling.
15:05Right, this is it.
15:06No more chances for Richard.
15:14Come on.
15:31His bike's broken.
15:33This car's just decided not to accelerate.
15:42This didn't put any power down?
15:44No.
15:44It's like it's running on partial power.
15:46Running on empty, like me.
15:48Yeah.
15:48Let's call it a day, Richard.
15:50We tried.
15:50Yeah, I agree with you.
15:51We'll have you back for another time, though, when you've got it dialed in.
15:53Yeah.
15:54Thank you very much.
15:55Cheers, mate.
15:55So then, what exactly happened?
15:57Well, the Denza Z racing won.
15:59It did the standing quarter mile in 9.5 seconds.
16:02The Lamborghini took 9.9 seconds.
16:05And the Denza Z9 GT took 10.3 seconds to do the standing quarter mile.
16:10Unfortunately, the bike never completed a full run.
16:12But what happened to the Denza in the last race?
16:14Well, it turned out that because we've done so many high-speed passes in a row, the battery
16:20was getting hot.
16:21So, to make sure it didn't overheat, the car limited its power output to cool everything
16:25down.
16:26However, if you want to see the best time I've ever got out of one of these cars, you
16:29need to click on the video window appearing on screen now to watch my full in-depth review
16:33of the Denza Z racing.
16:35It's not just super quick.
16:36It's also packed with some very, very cool and very unusual features I've not tried on
16:41a car before.
16:41But, despite all the clever tech, I did still manage to damage the car slightly.
16:45Whoops!
16:46Anyway, thanks very much for watching, and I'll see you next time.
