00:06Well, we're going to find out by racing them over the standing quarter mile.

00:14Now, let me tell you about that new 296 Speciale.
00:16It's got a 3-litre twin-turbo V6 driving the rear wheels, but it's also mated to an electric motor.
00:21Combined, you have 880 horsepower, which is 50 horsepower more than the normal 296.
00:26It also has 755 newton-metres of torque.
00:30It's also light. It weighs in just over 1.5 tonnes.
00:32It's about 60 kilos lighter than the standard car, but it's also more expensive.
00:35That one there, with the spec, it's in £500,000.
00:38Now, for similar money, you could have this Lamborghini Ruelto.
00:41It's got a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 mated to an electric motor driving the rear wheels.
00:47But you also have two electric motors on the front axle, so you have four-wheel drive.
00:50Combined power is 1,015 horsepower and 1,062 newton-metres.
00:56And when you combine that with a four-wheel drive system, you'd think that that Ferrari stands no chance of
01:01beating this Lamborghini.
01:02But that ain't going to be the case, necessarily, because this is a lot heavier.
01:06Weighs in at just under 1.9 tonnes.
01:08Anyway, let's see what's going to happen.

01:46So, that's confidence for you. It's that kind of confidence that earns you a 296 speciale.
01:51So, let's get into the racing. Then we're going to start off with a drag race.
01:54Cold tyres, though, so anything could happen. Plays to my advantage. Four-wheel drive.

03:17Right, and, Joe, what we're going to do now is have a rolling race over the half-mile.
03:20We're going to go in third gear in the sportiest setting, see what happens.

11:25wheel drive and it kept up all the way so then what exactly happened well the slow motion action
11:30replay shows that the lamborghini just beat the ferrari but both cars completed the standing
