00:00Bryce Laspisa had made a trip from a city called Rockland to the city of Laguna Niguel.
00:08He was on his way to visit his parents to talk with them, and he vanished along the way.
00:14A trip he could have made in less than half a day.
00:19It had taken him at least twice that.
00:22Three days before the disappearance, Bryce's girlfriend, named Kim, mentioned that he was acting strange.
00:30We don't know exactly what she meant, but she said she had seen him acting in a way that wasn't
00:35normal for him.
00:36Now we move to Wednesday, August 28th.
00:40Around 10pm, Bryce's friends reported that he tried to break up with Kim,
00:44and this wasn't normal at all because everyone saw that he was deeply in love with her.
00:51Worried about what had happened the day before and what was happening right then.
00:56Because not only did he try to end the relationship, but he also kept acting strangely.
01:01His friends took away his car keys so he wouldn't try to drive given his erratic behavior.
01:07At 10.30pm, Karen, Bryce's mother, and Bryce started talking on the phone.
01:13During this conversation, the mother spoke to one of the friends and asked him to return the car keys to
01:20her son.
01:22The mother mentioned that before hanging up, her son told her, and I quote,
01:26I have a lot of things to talk to you about.
01:29The friends gave him the key.
01:31An hour after this call, at 11pm, Bryce got into his car and headed towards the I-5 highway,
01:38which was the one he had to take to get to Laguna Niguel.
01:42During all that time, his parents tried to reach him,
01:46but he didn't answer the calls, and so, desperate by 9 o'clock pm,
01:51they called the California Highway Patrol to do a welfare check on their son.
01:57The officers found Bryce parked nearly 4 kilometers away.
02:03When they arrived, they saw Bryce sitting in the driver's seat, staring into space.
02:09The officers approached and talked to him.
02:12He was behaving and speaking normally.
02:17Now we move to Friday, the day of the disappearance.
02:20At 2.08 in the morning, Bryce spoke to his mother for the last time.
02:24He told her that the GPS showed he was 3 hours and 20 minutes away from Laguna Niguel,
02:30but that he was very tired and was going to sleep in his car.
02:35At 5 o'clock am, 3 and a half hours after that last call,
02:39the California Highway Patrol received a report.
02:42A man who was out walking came across Bryce's vehicle.
02:46The car was overturned as if it had been in a terrible crash,
02:50but there was no one inside.
